Re: Supercharger

Almost there. We need new bearings for the supercharger. The big question is what is the specification, part number and where to get them from.

Winnie, if you are looking, you managed to obtain some, what was the make and part numbers???

Thanks
Mike

Re: Supercharger

On strip down of the supercharger it seems that the clutch assembly and a seal (???) need replacing, otherwise in good order. Now it is a matter of sourcing a clutch kit. It seems a replacement seal can be sorted. It’s day like this Inwish I weren’t so busy so I could take it all in. I am still thin...

Re: Supercharger

As a b2b supply from a Benelux dealer I have been quoted broadly £2,500 for a new supercharger.

If it is not the CCV valves I am leaning towards ordering a new supercharger for the piece of mind.

Re: Supercharger

Thanks for the responses. Fingers crossed its the CCB valves. I wait to hear back.

In the meantime I am preparing myself for the likely purchase of a new supercharger. I have made enquiries...

Winnie - if it does come to replacing the supercharger I will let you know.

Supercharger

The trusty B6 went in yesterday for disks, pads and pipes. In the meantime, a quick health check showed up time to consider steering bushes, Ok, and lower sump pan showing signs of corrosion, Ok. And, then, oh, we have also spotted a further oil leak, this being from the supercharger. I don’t know w...

Wow.

It may take a while to get used to but ultimately it will be for the better. Fear not though, running a forum is a thankless task, so a huge thumbs up from me.

its more a case of what you want to pay.. you could get estimates ranging from 1-5k but depends on quality of work and finish you seek i would not want to spend less than 3-4k retail on what you describe or likely around 2k trade price to achieve a reasonable finish call around your local bodyshops...

I have a '98 Jaguar XK8 (Mrs C's preferred car). Whilst the car is mechanically sound it is tired. The car is going into a Jag specialist next week for some work - seat motor/module, windows motor/regulators, air con howl, centre console lights, rear view mirror! Once that is all sorted out there ar...

The brakes work!

It seems silly, but I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times I have had to do an emergency stop. Well, today I had an absolute need to do so. Thankfully I was observing the speed limit and was trundling along at 30 mph when an oncoming car decided to turn right immediately in front...
