Spotted Marlborough 15 Apr 2019

Lovely blue Alpina Estate. Coldnt see if it was a D3 or B3, but looked great.
Got a flash of the lights and a toot of the horn from the driver.

Re: Service parts and Gear box oil - Its time.....

Thank you Charles. I have decided to break this job down into parts and have just bought a service kit for my car from ECP (£85). I will get this done first and then take it from there. I need wheel bearings, gearbox oil change, tensioner change and will tackle these step by step after the service. ...

Re: E46 B3 - 3.3 No 236.

A lovely looking car, which would be improved with a set of gold Alpina stripes!

The specification doesn't look that impressive - no screen, manual seats. Could be a nice car, but as others have said, driving Miss Daisy style driving for the last 10 years will not have done the engine much good.

Re: Service parts and Gear box oil - Its time.....

Thanks Dogwagen. A very useful and complete answer. I was planning on conducting the work myself. The gearbox oil sounds like a pain, so might ask a indie to do this part, especially as the fill needs to be checked at temperature. How easy/hard are the tensioners/idlers? The service itself sounds li...

Service parts and Gear box oil - Its time.....

My B3 3.3 needs an oil service. Please could you help me with part numbers and any recommendations of where i can buy these parts. I would normally use Eurocarparts. For the service - I guess i need: Service Kit Oil Filter Air Filter Fuel Filter Pollen Filter Oil - How much capacity does the car hav...

Re: 1998 E46 B3 3.2 Sales Brochure??

This was posted a while ago. I thought it was my car, but if you look at the registration plate carefully, you will see that it is a 3.2 and not a 3.3.

Re: 1998 E46 B3 3.2 Sales Brochure??

I believe that i asked a similar, related question a while ago.
The answer I received was that the 3.2 engine from E36 cars was used in the early E46 models in 1998. The engine size grew to 3.3 in 1999.

I may be wrong though.....

Does anyone have experience of MotorHub, Keighley?

Some very intersting cars here. I was toying with the idea of modernising the Alpina in my household and stumbled across the D3 Bi-Turbo in stock. https://www.motor-hub.co.uk/used-cars/search-results?page=5&make=BMW&vehicleType=cars Any advice appreciated - oh and I now that it is a cat c - so would...

Re: Top Gears top 10 Fastest Estate cars 2 are Alpina

Thanks for sharing - very intersting.

What comes to my mind is just how advanced the Audi RS2 was back in the day. Launched in the early 90's and still features in this report. Ok, so it was a Porsche engineered car. But still......

Re: Rav's 1999 B3 3.3 Saloon - Yes I bought it!!

I had that dreaded belt squeel properly diagnosed today. My main man, Justin at Watters car and commercial used water on each belt to work out where the noise was coming from. He then used a stethoscope to listen to each idler and tensioner. The top idler pully is the culprit, but changing one would...

Re: My B10 3.3 # 135

Very nice and welcome to Alpina ownership. The car looks very nice and it sounds like you are going to cherish and restore the car. Buying un-seen from the internet sounds a risky business, but has paid off for you. Not sure i could do it twice though (Car and shockers)! Keep us updated with what yo...
