Re: Dark blue B5 eBay possibly #280

I find the whole fast ford pricing very odd, rubbish advert too, no mention of mileage. New alternator is a pricey thing though.

Re: I’ve gone full Alpina at last.

I think that could be said of many Alpina’s really, enthusiast owned and cared for generally rather than the BMW cousins! I plan on doing one of the big job soon, new shocks and springs (OEM of course). Only what the car deserves. It’s done nearly 120k now and doesn’t miss a beat so I prefer to keep...

Re: I’ve gone full Alpina at last.

Agreed very lucky, the advert was for just the front spoiler kit but the part number was for the complete car kit. As I wanted the front spoiler kit anyway at the time thought I would see what turned up, the complete car kit arrived! Kept the side stripes off until now as I fancied a new look.

Re: I’ve gone full Alpina at last.

Yes the deko kit is the stripes. I got the got the kit awhile ago from FMW tuning for a bargain price thanks to a website pricing error (£80 instead of £275) in Germany but only fitted the front spoiler parts first. Decided to go full Alpina this year. I like having the ability to add or delete thes...

I’ve gone full Alpina at last.

Got my car back today in time for Easter. I finally decided to go full Alpina and have the deko kit fitted. I also got the wheels refurbished with the newer valves with the plastic spacer to prevent bi metallic corrosion and replaced the A pillar shadowline trim which had started to bubble. Almost f...

Select your photos to email and in the draft the bcc/from line says images on the right hand side of the bcc line, press this image tab and you get to select the resolution of the picture to email.

Re: E46 B3s detailed for Easter

I email the pics to myself but select a smaller file size in the email. This reduces the file. Medium is usually fine but may need to be small.

Re: high mileage B5

This won’t be on it’s original charger so check when the last one was fitted, I would say they are good for 60k miles at least usually if the correct oil filter is always used (this is crucial). Check how many miles the discs have done and for any oil leaks from the rocker covers, timing chain cover...

Re: Taking Payment

I had similar experience years ago selling an Audi S6. Some lad got a taxi from Liverpool with some mates, didn’t really look at the car but paid cash! He asked where he was and I told him about 20 mins from Birmingham and asked where Birmingham was🤦‍♂️. Asked me to put the car in his “grandfathers”...

Re: Considering my first Alpina

If I am reading the table correctly then there is only 10 B3 saloons so quite rare.
I can’t help with what to look for, I would check turbo as best you can and for any signs of smoke, usual checks when viewing a used car also.
