F32 B4S UK Production

Post by simonriley11 » Thu Feb 08, 2024 6:24 pm

I am the fortunate new(ish) owner of Snapper Rocks Blue B4S Coupe #230. According to the stats in our register the UK Alpina production was 3 B4S Coupes.

According to the register there is my car, another Snapper Rocks Blue car #273 and a Green car (I believe the Sytner demo car) #231 - so that tallies.

I live in North West Cumbria and was amazed to bump into a chap called Colin (from Oxfordshire) in Penrith this week with his Green B4S Coupe (I didn't get the number but according to Colin it's not #231) which is not shown in our register, so it appears there at least 4 cars.

I would be really interested to know how many cars were in the UK production run.

Many thanks for the information. Here's a (not very good) picture of #230 when I collected her last September

Really nice colour 8) and as far away from monochrome cars as can be, thankfully. I'm sort of keeping an eye on these as a possible/maybe for future 3rd car, but leaning more towards a cabriolet as it would be for fun/tinkering only. Or I may just go older school E46 cabriolet...again, just watching what's around and musing. Or maybe another 981GTS, but Boxster form....decisions :!:

Hi Ade

Thanks for the nice comments.
I've been lucky enough to own a lot of very nice cars over the years and - as my daily driver - this is by far the best. It might sound a bit boring but it's such a satisfying car to own and drive.
I understand the thought of a convertible as a third car, I would too and one of these or a Boxster (I've had one too) would be right at the top of my list.
I've got a couple of British convertible classics now (yes I enjoy tinkering!) so I've managed to get that bit covered.
Happy hunting.

Ok thanks - I see you own an Escort Cosworth, I had one from new in 1995 and it was Purple (Dark aubergine I seem to recall)

Where is N515LAM now?

Bit late to the party here, but as Ade said above, those are the UK F32 B4S' ... although technically #210 isn't a UK car, being as it was built to Singaporean spec as the pre-production prototype for the launch of the B4S. It had to go through approval before Sytner could register it in the UK.

I've also included the Cabrio's and the Ed99's here for info since they're evolutions of the B4S.

For reference, you'll find the Register info here quite patchy after the pre-LCI F3x era cars, roughly 2017 onwards. The https://www.alpina-archive.com/?cat=691Archive is more complete, but due to being global it's harder to isolate the UK cars individually.
