Hi,
Has anyone fitted a BlueMusic, Blue Bus, GROM or other bluetooth audio interface in their, E46. E30. E38 based Alpinas? I am looking for a solution where I do not have to replace the widescreen monitor.
Also I have the phone controls on my steering but no microphone above, does that mean my car is not prewired for phone?
Thanks All

Re: Bluetooth Audio Interface
A few months ago I almost bought a BlueBus as it looks like a great piece of kit. The plan was to fit to our e39 Touring (non-alpina) and if successful buy another for the b10. After spending a half day removing boot trim from the touring I discovered I only had 2 of the required 3 cables. There was no telephony kit or amps in the boot at all! So, (if you haven't already), check for the 2 x small connectors for the cd changer and much larger one that may (or not) be hiding under the wheel arch trim forward of the cd changer space. My solution was to purchase an Eonon android unit that looks very much like the oe BMW screen. If you need to add a mic, remove the airbag trim cover at the top of the A-pillar (disconnect the battery!) , underneath that is a screw, the A pillar trim then comes out quite easily. There is plenty of room to stuff mic cable into the headlining, down the A pillar then behind the glovebox.
Over winter, I plan to get into the b10 boot and see what kit is actually has and then go from there.
Cheers

Re: Bluetooth Audio Interface
i have a bluetooth connector wired into my aux out on my E30 works well. I've probably used the wrong words to describe it. You can use the same on an E46 if you have the standard CD headunit but the headunit needs to be from a 2005 onwards car as they had aux output
Alternatively i've got a scosche bluetooth that plugs into the fag lighter and you tune the FM radio into it which works well, i used it on my e38 and currently on my e39 but theres loads of options with the e46/39s

Re: Bluetooth Audio Interface
Thanks for the responses. For now I have ordered the Bluemusic and it was only £37 on Amazon, it utilises the CD changer connections. It does not have Bluetooth Phone comparability, however, found a Jabra Speaker that I had utilised in my B3, it clips on the sun visor and works great for phone calls.
Will let you know how I get on with the Bluemusic device.
