F31 LCI D3 BiTurbo

Post by CaesarBob » Wed Jul 21, 2021 12:49 am

Can anyone help with a puzzle that's been bugging me for a while?

Saw these images of an LCI D3 back in 2017 which had been upgraded with an Alcantara headliner and pillars but can't decide which # it is. From these pics it definitely has Merino leather, probably Cashmere Beige, but the paint looks like a dark blue, so I thought Imperial.

Trouble is, only three UK LCI cars got Merino leather, all Cashmere Beige, with one Mediterranean Blue and two in ALPINA Green.

So that should mean this is the Med Blue car which is #139 and was Sytner's LCI launch car. But, Sytner sold that most recently in Jan-20 and based on their pictures it didn't have pale colour A-pillars (no other images were posted) and the steering wheel looks suitably worn, commensurate with 47k miles it was advertised with at the time so assume they aren't stock images.

Does anyone know #139/can confirm if it actually does have an Alcantara headliner or know the identity of this one?

Do you have a registration number? If you do, I may be able to find out the build number.

James

Sadly I don’t. I could’ve found the VIN out too if I did.

Interesting.

The Alpina demo #139 did have the Awron gauge too. Perhaps the lighter alcantara headlining has been fitted in the last year? It was certainly black beforehand.

Edited to add that the car appears to be here. https://www.dclass.co.uk/ who specialist in vehicle re-trimming etc

It was d:class where I saw the pics originally, but they posted it on Instagram back in Sep-17 so it’s not a recent thing and definitely pre-dates Sytner’s last sale in Jan-20.
Doesn’t help they described it as a B5 on their site.
