I'm thinking of changing the B10 - just getting too expensive to run on the miles I'm doing. I've been looking at all sorts of alternatives but need an automatic and would like something newer but still interesting, without breaking the bank.
The E90 BT are in my price range and I'm sure they would be cheaper to run, but if I'm honest, I know very little about 3 series based cars, having been a serial 5 series owner for a number of years.
Any comments from owners??

Funnily enough I ran a D3BT and B10 V8 at the same time
I loved by D3BT (#252) which was had a Auto/Switchtronic gearbox
Never dropped below 44mpg no matter how hard/easy driven
But remember, they take 10W60 oil (same as an M car) when serviced
If you can, buy a Lux model, especialy if its got heated leathers and Xenons

I've had an E91 BT (touring version) and it's one of the best cars I've had the pleasure of driving and owning. They're fairly basic in terms of toys but you can do a few things with them to enhance them.
The handling is great - I had the manual car and it was good, just running out of a little steam going uphil on the Nurburgring towards the Karousel, thats where a 3liter unit would have come in handy.
Ensure you get a well maintained one, full history at a BMW service agent or main stealership. Options were limited on them but later models did have the Lux pack offering as an option.

Nothing to see here.... move along in an orderly fashion please!
