Used Alpina/Awron display F3X

Post by Mackar » Mon May 09, 2022 12:50 pm

Has anyone here bought a used Alpina/Awron Datadisplay and been able to unlock it to use in a vehicle with another engine than the one it was installed in first?

I had one in my D3 F31 but it was stolen a while ago and I found a used that has been mounted in a F31 328i so I need to reset it so I can get all values for a diesel

I had an Awron display in my F32 for a while, which was previously used on an M3, which worked fine.

My understanding is that later software updates from Awron unlocked the display to all cars. Since Awron now no longer exist, it was impossible to tell if it would work until I fitted it, which luckily it did.

I was in touch with Tom of European Auto Source who was extremely helpful and has extensive knowledge of Awron. You might want to try him if you need further assistance

Good luck

Don't get any reply from europeanautosource.com so is there anyone here that has a recent firmware file for the Awron display?

Hello,

I do have the same problem. I bought an Alpina Instrument out of an D3, and now in the B3 it is not working correctly.

I found out that there is a tool to reset the ECU ID. But neither Alpina nor Rob (current owner of Awron) have this tool. I also mailed Tom, and got an negativ answer from him.

My Investigations of the former Awron owners failed so far.

Is your instrument an original Alpina one or an Awron?

Perhaps we can swap them.

Kind Regards
Dirk
