Lovely - looks like Champagne nappa.

No Xenons though.

According to the Archive it's Ecru Nappa and Avus Blue which looks like a nice combo.

Lovely combo, Avus is stunning when detailed.
Ecru seemed to be a popular cream shade of this era.

It's not a colour I remember from back when E46's were new and it always seems to be Alpina's that appear now with it.
I would've thought it would stick in the memory as it always sounds like a made up colour name to me! Laughing

I agree CB, only seem to see it on Alpinas and Phil's 7 was the one that reminds me this isn't true.
Champagne seems to be an signature "cream" BMW Individual leather, while Ecru has come and gone.
Topical for me as my V8S has Ecru Nappa and I'm just about to start a full refurbishment/repaint of the interior.

I bought this one, it's a funny car, I was looking for an engine to rebuild for a project, and thought I'd look at this thing. The car is pretty good, not been loved that well for some years, but straight apart from a few things, the leather has been damaged by something and then someone seems to have tried to fix it with paint which looks terrible, a good leather restorer could get it looking lovely, the body is generally good albeit in need of a really good detail and has only got tin worm in one front wing which is just starting to bubble through.

Mechanically the suspension is fine, the gearbox shifts well with no hesitation, the T/C is fine and brakes etc are good. All the electrice, aircon and buttons work as they are supposed to and the Harmaon Kardon sounds lovely.

The problem is under the bonnet. it's been owned by the sort of owner who fixes it based on what it fails an MOT on so no pro-active care at all, no checking oil levels, no awareness of anything. As a result the engine is buggered.

So I'd been looking for something that was a real heap and had a 3.3 engine I could rebuild, and ended up buying this quite nice car with a screwed 3.4. I'm going to take that out and have it rebuilt for a project and the rest of the car can go for parts, so there's a post here about it, I'm open to offers for the whole car if someone has the inclination and spanners for a project.

http://thealpinaregister.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=193030#193030

(If this post reads like someone trying to justify something to themselves, that's because it is, I don't like breaking it, but it's just going to cost too much to get this back on the road to be worth doing, but I still hate breaking an Alpina.)

So the car ran when you bought it? What’s wrong with the engine ?
