Classic hero E30 B6 3.5 conversion £120k

Post by hap » Mon Aug 01, 2022 8:04 pm

Usual narrative but interesting back story . Looks like the dash plaque number relates to the original B6 2.8 car
What do you think ? Lovely looking

Yes, it's a great back story, the #179 was born originally as a B6 2.8 and when it was upgraded it retained the same #179 as a B6 3.5

I was going to make some snide remark about the pricing of this but having read the back story, having lived the "importing a car from Germany" both pre-EU and during-EU I now find it a bit of a bargain.

I also felt after reading that story it's probably worth the asking price for it's incredible provenance, I mean it's a great story and there can't be many cars with one like that to go with them

Amazing, and dare I say it, no newer Alpina can match these older cars IMO either for character or drivability, this is a no driver aids supercar that's worth every bit that £120k imo, something I can't really say about new cars.(sorry!).

The chap leaning on the B6 is DJ Carl Cox, who it appears is the new custodian of #179

As Bob says Hap, its Carl Cox who appears to be the new keeper.
He posted the photo on his FB today, setting out to Goodwood Revival 8)

He's a huge petrol head, both bikes and cars and in particular bike road racing.

He sponsors Michael Dunlop amongst many others as Carl Cox Motorsport, it seems if he's not busy being a DJ he's trackside!

Broke down at the side of the road in Chichester this eve. Coolant hose issue.

A mate of mine bumped into him and got a selfy!
