Those kits are going for mental money.

Well it was I that took the plunge. It was localish so couldn't pass it up really although with a house sale etc underway the timing was questioned!

So driven it around 50 miles, its not perfect but its not bad either. Could do with the dash pixels being sorted, the tailgate dampers have failed, and I'm sure a rear damper is shot (could be a subframe bush) but more importantly no record of timing chain guide work (although 45k ago the heads were off and new gaskets fitted by BMW) so I'll do the sundries anyhow but money permitting I'll stump up and have the guides done in the not too distant.

It has a slight rough period at 2k, I suspect a failing TPS but apart from that it wears its 157k well. The engine is lovely and sweet, gearbox and switchtronic all spot on.

I might not keep it long subject to said house sales etc but I want to do what's right by it.

Just trying to figure the colour so we can get the right paint, it says under the bonnet Blau II Metallic BMW individual. I take it I'll have to go to the dealer for some paint?

If you know the paint code you can get base coat paint mixed in rattle cans for about £13 ago. Ebay or an auto paint supplier such as Jawel
