Hello,
Just seen this one on Autotrader. I have been trying to do some research on the difference between the B3 and B3S but am struggling. Is it just power output (360 vs 400)? Do they both have the N54, or would an older B3 like this one have an N52? I am also confused that I can't seem to find emissions so can't work out road tax. Another odd thing is that earlier today the FJ08 FEF reg came up on DVLA, now it doesn't. Judging by the first post picture it has had a reg change already.
Also does anyone know this Julie lady, as I would like to speak to her if I consider purchasing from the EP crowd?
If she sold it for £12k to them then £17k gives a pretty good profit margin, especially at the moment.

Now it's coming up on DVLA again. Most odd.

The main difference between the B3 and B3S for the E92 and E93 is:
- B3 is pre-LCI, B3S is LCI although a couple of the latest B3 did get CIC info-tainment.

Both used the N54 and the B3S got revised engine management and some cooling/airflow system upgrades which released the extra ponies.

This one was on a cherish until recently so it is probably a delay in the details catching up. As far as emissions numbers go, because of the low production volumes many ALPINAs are classed as PLG and don’t have a CO2 value assigned.

Thanks for the info. It does look like a good one on the face of it.
Only thing that concerns me so far is 40k miles is quite soon for turbos to go and fuel pump (even for an N54).
I will speak to the sellers as soon as I can (wife going into hospital tomorrow so bad timing). I am also trying to get hold of my local BMW specialist to see what he thinks to servicing Alpinas.
If anyone has a way of contacting the original seller, I would appreciate it.

Once Facebook is back up, be worth joining the group mentioned near the start of this thread - imagine she/the ad is on there - can't hurt to drop her a message.
Never not on the hunt for a petrol Alpina Touring - B3 or B3S preferred but B5 series considered

I have paid a deposit on this car, so I will be an Alpina owner very soon. Ever since I was a kid, the name Alpina has seemed special to me. I am really looking forward to cherishing this car :D

Are you coming to collect or having it delivered?

Quite a few nice roads round these ways and an hour or so to the best of North Wales!

Delivered. I don't like getting to know a car by driving it home. I also don't want to put unnecessary mileage on it. I am funny like that. :D
