Thanks Gee, mileage is a little high for me, I know it does not bother some. However, I am just going to sit back and take my time now until something comes along that catches my eye, even more so now with another lockdown that I think will go longer than a month so not really going anywhere!

Also going to widen my search to some options other than Alpina.

I’ve got my eyes on the G12 B7
Like you, I’m gonna sit and wait
I went to £53k, they said No
Now I’m gonna be firm on £50k, unless it sells or somebody pays them closer to what they want

@Bob - looking at the pics of this one - standard steering wheel on this B5 too. Maybe only the early B5s had them?

Rear tyres look different too - I think they may be one profile up on the sidewall - 35 (should be 30)

I've been back over the cars I have images for:

F1x B5 w Standard Steering Wheel:
  • F10: #001 (PRESS CAR), #003, #008, #009, #021, #048, #049, #050, #051, #052, #067, #078, #080, #092, #137
  • F11: #026 (PRESS CAR), #031, #032
F1x B5 Unconfirmed:
  • F10: #079, #127, #164, #317 [LCI], #320 [LCI]
  • F11: #074
F1x B5 w Sport Steering Wheel:
  • F11:#135 [LCI], #145 [LCI] (?)
  • F10 Edition50: #036 [LCI], #049 [LCI] (?)
I think on this basis, I'd go out on a limb and suggest that for the UK F1x B5's, only the LCI cars had a sport steering wheel.

Hello all,

I didn't have any takers at the right price in the autumn so I'm trying again! On eBay from today at a reduced price of £19k. It would be really nice to see her go to an enthusiast.

With the issuea of these "hot V8" engines that isn't a surprise
I'd jump on this if I could find a bulletproof warranty that covers the engine that isn't £250/month but I can't !!

Hi all, as the vendor I thought it might be useful to offer some reassurance to anyone considering further enquiries. I would say this of course 🙂 but it would be a shame to pass over what looks like a lot of car for the asking price, given work already undertaken, overall condition and spec.

According to the research I have done, issues generally associated with the N63 engine seem to be related to excessive oil consumption as a result of heat affecting valve guide seals - causing them to harden over time reducing their ability to seal. Seals in this car were changed by BMR about 5k miles ago by when I was adding a litre every 1000 miles; consumption is now a litre every 3.5k which is where it was when I first acquired it 60k miles ago.

I’ve read that timing chains can also be an issue so those experts at BMR replaced this one plus associated tensioning rail etc as a precaution while doing the valve guides. And since the engine was out it also made sense to replace main bearings and con rods and ancillaries such as coolant supply lines to the turbos.

A preamble to this work was the relatively less costly replacement of oil supply lines to the turbos and crankcase breathers.

Notwithstanding generic issues, most of what people might expect to be a problem of the hot-vee have been taken care of. I’d certainly not be looking to sell were it not for a change in circumstances which now mean I’m simply not doing the motorway miles I used to.

I feel like I’ve said way more than people will be interested in, so my apologies! But if anyone has questions, pls let me know 👍
