G30 D5 S ALLRAD #009

Post by Bob » Tue Oct 20, 2020 5:59 pm

This one has re-appeared, done nearly 25k miles since Uber GT sold it last October. Looks competitively priced.

I remember seeing this one advertised privately on Autotrader for £37.5k by the original owner. UberGT bought it from him and sold on at a nice premium.

I too am amazed at how these cars do the rounds. The dealer puts on an ambitious mark-up; they get no takers; they chip a bit off; they get board; so send it back to auction or punts to another trader to have a go. And so the cycle repeats ...

Unfortunately it seems like there are a few cars that get trapped. When this appeared for 33k it was a sigh of relief seeing an Alpina reasonably priced...

Not sure if it’s anything more than a coincidence but, JCC’s old ALPINA D5S has now joined his Blu Pozzi B5 at Sytner. Interesting that it's covered over 8k miles since it reappeared for sale last October even though it appears to have been continuously for sale during that time.

That’s a decent price now. I’d snap it up if it was a touring.

I was the original owner of #009 - sold it to UberGT (good chaps) Sept 3rd 2019 for £37.5k at just under 30k miles. I didn’t have a single private enquiry! Sytner had 4 used D5 saloons for sale at the time as I recall and wouldn’t give me a price at all.

The advert would rather put me off - it isn’t clean (hosepipe ban maybe), but the wheel is upside down and there’s stuff in the cup holders.
A shame, because it was a cracking car for me - the specification was down to Sytner at the time, but it has the expensive but excellent adaptive drive (active anti roll bars) and rear wheel active steering.

These options were sadly no longer available when I ordered my current LCI D5, but they do make a noticeable difference (they are standard on the B5).It also has high performance brakes, alcantara headlining, nappa dash, piano black, powered boot, harman Kardon and other bits but I would need to check my order.

I thought it was a bargain when I was selling it - having been (foolishly) seduced at the time by a brand new spec amendable M5 for £75k, I never considered I would struggle to sell the D5 - but it is now 3 years older and done another 50k miles via a couple of owners for a mere £6k less.

Wow that a lot you have had to miss off your next order for the current car accept it’s down to war chip availability

It is just the adaptive drive and rear wheel steering that are no longer available - the others are options that were on the car and are still available, I just worded it badly!
