Help please 2008 Alpina B3 BI-Turbo Coupe

Post by Steve D » Tue Jul 12, 2022 8:11 pm

Hi All
I was a member of the register with my B10 V8 touring some years ago that I sold.
I am now looking to sell a 2008 BMW Alpina B3 BI-Turbo Coupe that is mint and only has 15,000 miles on it.
Can anyone give me guide on likely value please and what is the best way to sell it.
The car is metallic grey with red leather and a glass sunroof.
I would like to offer it in the register first to avoid the annoying people that dont understand these super classics.
I look forward to any advice or comments
Kind regards
Steve.

Hi Steve welcome back
Yours Is 098 and looks lovely
Price ? Tough one but I’d look to do a Sale or return with likes of old cornels, classic hero’s or even Munich legends to do a full spread detailed photos etc
Cabs are selling as little as 13k up to 22k with 60 odd thousand
There is B3s good wood one at 25999 but more miles
Do not trade it with sytners
May we ask reason for sale and has it regularly been Serviced annually despite the low miles ?
My friend had a similar low miles coupe but I think his has 22k approx
Couple of pics
Bob will be along with a in depth analysis on recent sales price pattern etc

If it’s really nice, try Collecting Cars. Drop them a quick email and they’ll give you a call back.

This is an interesting one. There have been odd low mileage E92 B3 BT's sold in the last couple of years:
#159 sold privately for c£15.5k/43.3k miles in Mar-22 and
#254 was sold by Sytner for c£24k/26k miles in Sep-20

The biggest factor impacting value will likely be the service history, it looks like the car has seen limited use over the last decade or so. John Clark sold it in 2010 with 11k miles and looking at the MOT history it has a gap between Sep-16 to Jun-22. What history do you have between 2016 & 22, was there any recommissioning work done prior to the recent MOT?

Overall I have noted 12 E92 B3 BT's advertised in the last 18mths and the pricing breaks down as follows:
>100k miles: one sold for £8k/154k miles
75-100k miles: seven cars averaging £15.4k/83.4k miles
30-75k miles: three cars averaging £15.1k/60.9k miles
<30k miles: one car at £24k/26k miles

I would echo the suggestions above, selling such a low mileage car requires you to get enough publicity to find that right buyer. Places like Old Colonel, KGF, Classic Heroes and more recently HPC Classics, who have successfully sold a few ALPINAs for strong money now, have that exposure. Otherwise, the current crop of eauctions like Collecting Cars, The Market, Car & Classic, etc are an option for a private-ish sale. Just be wary that you will probably be pushed to lower reserves as the deadline approaches.

Hope that helps
