Thomad you've gone back a long way !

I have fond memories on playing games on my Vic 20 and Commodore 64. Games like Henrys House and Attack of the mutant camels spring to mind.

My favorite games:

1. GTA IV (Xbox 360) - even though mine crashes with alarming regularity I love the game.

2. Lego Star Wars 1/II (PS2) - I know its meant for kids but I love it
I've just bought Indiana Jones too (on Xbox360) - they are all similar so can share 2nd place !

3. Banjo + Kazooie (N64) - I really enjoyed this game - The N64 was built for games like this - Mario 64 / Donkey Kong 64 - I spose they're all similar to the lego series.

4. Far Cry (PC) - My favorite first person shooter

5. Sports car GT (PC) - I have found memories of playing this on 2 networked PCs both with Steering wheels + pedals. It was a very good game both in realism and graphics - never seem to get a massive following. Unfortunately I've not been able to play it for ages as my home machine won't run it anymore

Loads more games but I think these have proven my favorites.

Top 5 games in rough order from top to bottom -

• Live For Speed (PC) - The best driving / racing sim out there IMO with an unbelievably good online mode

• Goldeneye (N64) - The best first person shooter ever IMO, with superb simplicity and some awesome levels.

• Driver (PC) - Again dead simple concept - run away from the cops in a big yank tank whilst trying to drive to certain destinations in the US

• Fifa 98 (N64) - Again a really simple game with few controls but great, great fun

• GTA - the very first one (PC) - Much, much fun!

All awesome games in my opinion

I have more than 5:

Gran Turismo 3 on the PS2. I completed this within 3 weeks – didn’t have any sleep whatsoever. GT4 and GT5 Prologue are not as fun IMO.

GTA4 on the PS3
Getaway PS2
Simpsons games are just fun on all formats
Need for Speed set
Virtua Fighter set and the Tekken set. Looking forward to Tekken 6

Retro games that I still have time for:
Chuckie Egg mainly on the Toshiba MSX but have time on all formats
Hunchback on the Toshiba MSX
Outrun on Sega Mega Drive (now have this on the PS2 format)
Leaner driver on the PS One
Oscar Wilde & Burkard Bovensiepen: I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.

Atic Attack on the spectrum

Sonic the hedgehog on Sega mega drive

Tomb Raider on the PS1

Halo 1 on the xbox

Project Gotham 2 xbox 360 online is brilliant.

I think that covers about the last 20 years

An interesting topic to some but has to be ruined by others. Go and play with your Alpinis if thats all you can come up with. Its a gaming thread yeah thats what it is, if you have nothing worth while to add then dont bother  .

Six for me.

Goldeneye on the '64 - just utterly brilliant in every single respect. Awesome multiplayer.

Super Mario Kart - SNES. Great game with brilliant multiplayer.

Medieval Total War with Viking Invasion - again, brilliant.

Combat Flight Simulator - Be Douglas Bader. Essential stuff for those of us who were going to be the RAF but left school just as the '90s defence cuts took hold.

Close Combat V, Invasion Normandy - not a classic, but an immensely good Company level top-down RTS. Fantastic online resource giving you patches/mods for every theatre of the war.

Gran Tourismo 4: Mercedes 190E Evolution II race car. Nurburgring. Enough said.

1. Jet Set Willy [Spectrum] - I spent hours playing this game and the follow up JSWII, even if it did have a bug and could not be completed without cheats.

2. Chuckie Egg [Spectrum] - I did love platform games and this one was particulary good.

3. Horace Goes Skiing [Spectrum] - A simple game but I loved it!

4. Legend Of Zelda [SNES] - A superb fantasy adventure game, I did complete it eventually.

5. Super Mario Kart [SNES] - This is just great two-player, so funny in battle mode. We still played it last Christmas and the kids loved it.

6. Gran Turismo 3 [PS2] - Superb driving game, amazing to think it is 7 years old now, I will probably have to buy a PS3 for GT5.
