100% agree Sir :)

Alpina attract a certain sort of person, with particular taste and outlook. I believe this is nicely demonstrated by the contributors and posts on here.
This is not intended to infer any superiority complex, or arrogance, just a particular discerning/refined taste.

Definitely keep the forum as it is, it works perfectly.

Not much to do today, so I was trawling the past threads to get some insight into want is being discussed. This thread tickled me.

I was rubbish at English at school and languages in general. However, I have found in the last 10 years there is a steady slump in the capabilities of graduates entering the civil engineering profession, most have difficulty constructing sentences and cannot construct a comprehensive argument in any written form.

My biggest irritation is the transferring terminology for ground or floor. The police shows being one of the main contributors, resulting in me bawling at the TV.

In terms of the type of contributors, I must admit that you can take the boy out of the racer, but you can’t take the racer out of the boy. Buying the XD3 is a clear attempt to influence the pace at which journeys are dispatched. Marc76 is the same, but a good deal younger, as we have tried to project this inherent need to track based efforts.

You know, like everyone has their own methods of communication, like, different languages within English. So, like it’s the downfall of the written word.

Trump has done the English speaking element of the planet no favours with his idiotic terms
“Trust me.” In many ways he reminds me of Rab C Nesbit “I’ll tell you this, boy.”

Sometimes I really despair, but I suppose that I’m just getting old and not down with the kids. The graduates in the business think I’m some sort of dinosaur as I don’t trust what the computer program or the internet is telling me. Maybe I should sell all the cars and retire to a croft on Skye?

Nothing wrong with retiring to a croft on Skye, not far from some good Alpina roads and I understand Rab C Nesbitt more than I ever understood Trump.

The one that gets me the most is sort v's sought as in "it is a sort after car/model". Never sure if it is going to be sorted after you buy it?

Sorry

In lockdown it’s been so long since I actually drove a car that I’ve replaced my road rage with grammar rage!

I will stop now that I’ve got it off my chest.

Being a pedant is a pre-requisite when being asked an opinion on Alpina bonnet badges ...

Can I apologise before I ask this question as no doubt it’s been discussed before, given Charles’s post.I am new to the forum although I have been aware of the brand since I tried to buy a e21 c2 in the early 90s. I am good on BMW and Ford but don’t have the encyclopaedic knowledge of some one hear - Caesarbob.

What is it with Alpina badges instead of propellers front and back, some cars have them others don’t. Was it std at one time or another, an option, or is it all just aftermarket?

All Alpina come with the BMW Roundels. The Alpina items are eBay tat. Some like them others don’t as they are not OEM. Always a good way to start an argument/discussion when spotted on cars.
