TV Show 'Bangers: Mad For Cars Series 1 Episode 2'

Post by nealpina » Thu Oct 26, 2023 11:42 pm

Only switched the TV over for a brief second to channel 4 on Tuesday; and within a few seconds spotted two ALPINAs and one wannabe

They briefly filmed a BMW car meet near Coventry and I spotted the following:

D3 2014 year
Either a B3, 4, or 5 from the angle this could be a touring but I cannot be sure as it was only in shot for a second or so
E38 740i with an ALPINA front lip - could not see if it had ALPINA wheels etc

If I have time this weekend I will capture some stills and upload them. Happy for someone else to do this

Also are the two ALPINA forum members's cars?
Oscar Wilde & Burkard Bovensiepen: I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.

I can tell you this from someone who shall remain nameless who went, they said they were kept waiting around for hours, the black lady alleged ex racing driver and the other presenter turned up late. They spend a very few minutes with the ALPINA theme. "Not a thank you or a cup of tea was offered"

I watched the first episode, total rubbish, pretending to be fake Police and speaking in some modern slang I dont understand .

It was at the Caffeine and machine near Warwick/Stratford on Avon.

Norman I think you referring to Naomi Schiff https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naomi_Schiff
Her racing record is on wikipedia just to save any confusion.

yes, excuse my ignorance, that is the woman. I never heard of her but don't follow whatever she was involved with, not personally not surprised.

Notwithstanding her CV, I thought the programme was low grade. But if people enjoy it then that's good also.

I've only seen clips and adverts for the show but I understand what you mean Norman. It's catered for a different audience.

A friend of mine's car was 'featured' in the first episode - a Lotus Carlton.

I recorded it and watching it back is 10 minutes of my life I will never get back

Presenters are a pair of clowns. Won't be watching any more that's for sure.

James

Good job it was a decent weather day then, the first hand report I got was there was a lot of hanging around before the "stars" turned up? Glad I didnt spend hours and tank load of fuel on a wild goose chase.
