Toby - I'm glad you liked the review and found it valuable.

My experience was with Lepsons in Swindon. Whilst I expect the Gillingham branch will deliver the same quality of results, unfortunately the MD there doesn't seem to want recognise the discount offered by Swindon. That said, the standard price is very good anyway given the results you should get.

I don't want to get started on the whys and wherefores of his decision, suffice to say that I wouldn't necessarily run my business that way.

I hope it goes well for you and I look forward to seeing some pictures of your shiny new wheels!

Hi Charles

I've been quoted £280+VAT for refurb of all four wheels and centre caps. Plus £100 each for front FK452's and £123 each for rears (including VAT and fitting). Plus tracking.

I'm very happy with these costs. They are very reasonable in my opinion. I've heard many good things about Lepsons in Kent before so I've every hope I'll be a happy man!

As I said, the prices you'll be quoted are very good anyway.

You can find the prices for Swindon in my original thread as I won't be so crass as to state them in comparison - suffice to say that Swindon is a bit cheaper than Gillingham. But this is all relative when you see the quality of the finished wheels.

Looking forward to the pictures ...

Ive decided to take mine to lepsons too. Im going to neeed some new rear tyres again soon too!!!

I cant decide whether to use the gillingham or swindon branch. Obvious support from Charles for the swindon one- excellent report.

I cant bring myself to sell the B5 as its running so well with its new supercharger so Im going to spoil it 4 new tyres, wheel refurb, respray the front spoiler, professional detail, stripes and store it whilst im in SA!

Should look great with anthracite wheels

Car back from Lepson tyres in Gillingham. Shane's the guy that runs the place and they provided excellent service. Car was immaculate when picked up and even the nasty vibration problem that appeared recently has been cured.

That's the good news. I've had the car back two days and parked it carefully outside the house. Then my wife takes it out and brings it back with an 8 inch mauling on one front wheel and a one inch gash on the other! She only drove down the road and back! To make matters even worse she denies it was her and is now in a mood with me saying she told me it was a waste of money. Arghhhhhhhh

There's absolutely no way the damage could have been caused by anyone but the driver and they certainly would have known about it as it would have made one hell of a nasty grinding sound.

To say I'm pissed off is as big an understatement as to say the English football team have been mildly disappointing in the World Cup to date.

So wheels now look worse than they did before as now the damage stands out like a sore thumb. I probably need to apologise to my neighbours for my rather loud use of some colourful words.

Unfortunately she's now curbed all four wheels. Too make matters worse we have to park the car on the street at the moment due to builders working on our house and occupying the driveway, and the car now has several scratches and scuffs on it's previously pristine paintwork due to careless drivers getting into and out of spaces :wall2

I might be in touch with Lepsons soon.. I recently stripped my centre caps as they had bubbled up under the paint and looked pretty rough.

I have tried to DIY and they came out pretty well, albeit the Simonez Silver spray I bought from Halfords is incorrect - I might try and source some 'sparkle' in a can and redo them soon and get new badges in place too. The caps came apart pretty easy, all you need is a couple of spanners, a small alan key and some pliers to release the circlip holding the spring on.
The finish on the wheels came up pretty well considering the state they were in originally.

Alternatively, I might leave it to the professionals, especially if they can put fresh rubber on the rears at the same time - my wheels seem to have signs of a previous refurb.

The only problem I have with a pro refurb (other than money) is I don't have any wheels to use in the meantime! I'll ask and see if they have anything 18" and BMW knocking about...

I want the wheels on my TWR refurbished so it'll be interesting to see what they charge to do 4 staggered 15'' rims? As soon as I get a set of slave rims I will drop them down.

Just been quoted £60 plus VAT by Lepsons. I thought that was going to be per rim, but actually it's for all 4.
