Recommendations: Outdoor Covers

Post by Bob » Thu Sep 30, 2021 10:30 am

Any recommendations on good outdoor covers?

Looking to get a cover which will be used on the B3 or the family wagon (they’re very similar size) over the winter for the times it needs to be out the garage.

I know people have mentioned issues with scratches, moisture/damp etc particularly if they flap about excessively and don’t have a decent lining, but thinking this will be the lesser risk versus bird sh*t/leaves/other crap that falls off the nearby trees.

Thoughts appreciated.

Have you considered an inflatable bubble? Personally never used one but seems like a viable option..

I don't have enough room for a bubble unfortunately Rav and I imagine there is a bit of a process involved in getting the car out. Need quick access ideally as it will be on the daily some times, although with wfh the daily is laid up a lot of the time!

Thanks rc, they sound like a good option. Will drop them a message as neither car is specifically listed in their selection of makes/models.

Another recommendation for classicadditions Bob - I've had 3 in total (924, 911 and C43 Estate) - all fitted nicely and were not too expensive.

The thing to watch with outside covers is keeping the "inside" off the floor when you put it on/take it off the lining can attract grit...easier said than done I know! One of the B3s' I looked at was stored outside and had some fairly significant abrasions as a result.

Greetings,
I JOINED THE FORUM RECENTLY.
I OWN 2 Alpina B6 and ordered covers Indoor car cover one from “California car cover” and an original OEM cover. I recommend the California car over the OEM.
