Out with old- in with new- back out & in with old
Out with old- in with new- back out & in with old
Been meaning to order some mats for a few years mine are good condition drivers side has lost the fur from my heel and some age related fading on the stripes
Ordered some and as it was sunny i thought I’ll compare and swap over
AnywAy I noticed that the pile is different and a lot less plush also colour looked grey as apposed to black
When feeling the pile my old ones oused quality and feel the new ones kinda synthetic
So I now put the old ones back in for now

Perhaps they maybe more durable and less likely to stain?

Interesting reading. Watching this channel on YouTube recently they were discussing how BMW have to create new old parts to keep on the shelf. Carpet being an example. They tend to use different manufactures...could be a clue as to why yours are different now.

Re: Out with old- in with new- back out & in with old
Totally agree but don’t charge the same price for what is not the same
Re: Out with old- in with new- back out & in with old
Job watched the video the e30 m3 comment on floor mats is very pertinent
I am now in 2 minds as to sell my original mats which I was going to do now I ain’t sure so I’ve a spare set which I could use and save the older original ones but bit of a waste
What the consensus help me decide

Re: Out with old- in with new- back out & in with old
I would only replace if I could find same quality. ive also considered someone who can make me replicas but keep my original. As buying from bmw/Alpina and not getting same quality is a bit pointless!

Re: Out with old- in with new- back out & in with old
Am now thinking possibly getting my original professionally cleaned and use the new ones as everyday the only snag is the heel wear is through to base so that can’t be repaired I did think using a black marker pen to shade it it’s not gone through but is visible where the pile gone
