Alpina driver age demographic including Poll
It is interesting that the higher percentages are in the younger age brackets; thought that it would be t'other way round - mainly because of higher insurance and running costs than perception as 'old f**ts' car
Have to add that, unfortunately, I fall into the 'more venerable' brackets but to paraphrase other comments, 'an Alpina a day keeps the man with the sickle away'
Hmmm, thinking about it, guess that might depend on how you drive

Well a quick bit of crude maths later an Ive established that the average age of the alpina driver is 40.2 years old (according to our survey).
Which, if you'd have asked me beforehand would have been my rough guesstimate at around 40.
So what does this mean? What does it say about the Alpina brand and their current demographic?
It would be interesting to hear from the UK brand manager on this subject and see if it aligns with thoughts about where Alpina are placed in the market and whom they appeal to.

String-backed gloves and a pipe could work...as could a pair of nice cushions on the parcel shelf (colour-matched to your B10, of course!)JimboB10 wrote:I'm 27 and my B10 isnt ready for collection yet but I fear the police may pull me over quite alot because I'll look like I've nicked it! The thing about ALPINAs is that they are actually very understated in their looks and most people cannot differentiate them from the original donor car.JimboB10 wrote:I'm 27 and my B10 isnt ready for collection yet but I fear the police may pull me over quite alot because I'll look like I've nicked it! So, unless you are driving like a complete hooligan or you live in a particular area, then I very much doubt you'll get "pulled" any more often than if you were in a 530i.
As for the poll, I would be interested to see the breakdown between D and B cars, as well as seeing the ages when first purchased and whether the car was new or "previously loved". This is all about affordability as I am sure the arrival of a £30k new ALPINA has shifted the demographics ....
