The ALPINA Register Insurance Scheme - CONTACT DETAILS ADDED
EXCITING NEWS
I have just returned from my meeting with the Brokers and I can announce that with effect from Monday 14th August 2006 there will be the opportunity to insure your car under "The Alpina Register" Special Scheme.
To obtain a quote, please contact Cheam Insurance Brokers on 020 8652 7733 and refer to "The Alpina Register Scheme"
The Brokers are extremely positive about supporting "Specialist Vehicles" and they were overwhelmed by the passion and enthusiasm that Register members have for their cars. They are finalising their uptake of knowledge from the Forum and from my conversations with them and are confident that they will be able to offer extremely attractive premiums AND extremely comprehensive coverage under the policies.
You may be interested to know that they would be very happy to look at all the vehicles that you might have (not just your Alpina) and put together a combined policy for your fleet. For example, they are preparing for me a group policy to cover the B3S, the wife's Espace and the au-pair's Megane.
Furthermore, if you are interested at looking at combining your vehicle and household/contents policies into one policy offering attractive rates, hassle-free claims and extremely extensive coverage of risk, then this can be achieved also. FYI this is the route that I am taking and the overall premium is less than the individual ones combined. In this situation, please contact me first and I will put you in touch with the correct Broker.
Finally, the Brokers are planning to attend Gaydon - so if you have any questions for them you can ask them directly. How's that for commitment?
Obviously the proof is in the delivery - but they are determined to be able to provide ALPINA Register members value for money and knowledgeable support & customer care. They are, after all, petrolheads by their own admission

Thanks chaps - it's my pleasure.Slamby wrote:Excellent news Charles. Thank you for taking the time to put this deal together for us.
I'll certainly give them a try come renewal next March.
Look forward to more details.
Just a point for you to consider - if you are into your second (or subsequent) year with the same insurer, then you can terminate the policy part way through the year at no penalty to you. I am advised that the Broker will recover a full pro-rata sum from premiums paid to the old insurer by you and refund/offset the figure against the new premium due under the Alpina scheme.
As such, you don't have to wait until renewal time.
Also, it would be useful if people obtained comparative quotes (even if they are not at renewal) to see how the new scheme adds up.
As promised, more news later this week with contact details

Good work indeed Charles and even better news that they'll be at Gaydon too...
will certainly be worthwhile getting a quote as you say just as a comparative even before renewal...

Ah, I used these guys a few years ago - I think it was for the 840, back when that cost me several thousand in premiums each year. I seem to remember that I got a good price, but they were a little creative with some of my information, so just be very careful when you read over the policy paperwork!
Still, I might give them a whirl again. In recent years I've been using Autotorque - the principal is again a car nut - former Exige, E31 and Gallardo owner - but I've been far less than impressed with their service on my most recent renewal - really, it should NOT take 3 weeks to get me a quote on an 840...
