Noughties Scramble - 26th November Bicester

Post by Wellsy » Wed Oct 11, 2023 1:51 pm

Hey all,

Anyone else coming to the Noughties Scramble on 26th November. All cars registered from Jan 1st 2000 to Dec 31st 2009 are eligible and will be put on display. One of those, if its a bright sunny winter morning will be great, if its a wet windy winter morning might struggle a bit.
Only £5 a ticket so I'm taking a punt. My plan is to arrive early doors to make sure I'm in the display area.
In association with Collecting Cars so the usual crew will be there.

Sunday Noughties Scramble report.

After a very chilly -3 start it turned out to be a really nice day. As usual I arrived nice and early a little too early. Arriving at 8am to the surprise of the marshals who had also just arrived. Quick tip catching the marshals this early meant I entered the site and parked up without being asked for a ticket.

Had prime parking spot being the first car in and as you can see in the picture, being the only Alpina in attendance, got loads of attention.

I had one guy come and talk to me and asked, how I had converted mine to look like an Alpina. He knew this was the case because I had left the BMW badges on the bonnet. A quick correction was in order. He took it very well and went away educated. :dance

Looks like you and your car were well received. It looks in fantastic shape. Hopefully the guy who asked will spread some truth around now rather than media myths.

I like going to Bicester as the crowd is more, hmm what's the word, Civil? perhaps its a slightly more my age group crowd as well and people are interested in the cars. What I also liked was no revving, apart from the two 700bhp Mustangs that just gave a little blip on the way in, but that's fine no petrol heads minds a few blips from a cammy V8.

Next Scramble is early Jan so will probably get a ticket for that one too.

Pity the event is not nearer me, it sounds like a general car connoisseur’s event which is what I appreciate, a general classic and rare car event , but I’m north of Manchester so quite a rarity round here myself.

Likewise wished I lived nearer, although i have been a few times. Ironically many years ago I did a H M Forces cinematic course there when it was RAF Bicester. Car looks good Mark and I endorse the no revving comment.
