Cowfold Festival 3rd July 21

Post by Norrie » Wed Jun 30, 2021 2:12 pm

As an experiment Two of us are displaying our ALPINA at the Cowfold Festival on Sat 3rd July 21. This is normally reserved only for Classic cars but after some discussion with the organiser they have permitted us to display. There will be around 120 Cars in total and other attractions include a fun fair, side stall attractions and music. It is open to the public from around 12 mid day.

This is very much a toe in the water, but its somewhere whereby the organiser embraced ALPINA as "was not very interested in any BMWs".

Uncomplicated local show in which the organiser was very accommodating. Lots of interest in ALPINA from the general public most (including BMW owners) most had never heard of ALPINA. One or two "tuners" comments, but generally very well received. The man who put on the event said a lot of interest was from much younger people, I am not sure if he meant I was old or was referring to the fact there were a lot of far older classic vehicles on display.

The strangest thing I have even seen comes from Japan, they take and old classic jag and joined it with the main body of a Nissan Micra. Personally I thought it was awful, but it was a talking point.

Ideal event for those with young families, but car show well segregated no issues whatsoever, friendly and I think the first show I have ever done when car is back in the garage within 30 minutes of leaving.

Hopefully a few people will be interested in 2022 and its free if that helps.

Hi Norrie,
Sorry I missed this one as it’s just along the road from me. If you plan to do this again next year myself, D4 owner, and my neighbour, who owns an Alpina Roadster, would like to swell the numbers.

Popped in to see Norman and Kelly at the show, luckily the rain kept off.

This is what Norman was talking about :wall2
