BMWCC breakfast meets at The Motorist

Post by Yad3100 » Sat May 29, 2021 12:57 am

The Eastern group breakfast meets at The Motorist in Sherburn look like they are starting again. Talking to Nick Wright today and he said that they would try moving to Saturday as a trial as Sundays are now becoming difficult to book.

First event is 6th June and if successful it will continue on first Saturday morning of the month.

I promised to meet Woolley there at some point but can’t make this one. It would be nice to get a few Alpinas at these events soon.

I think Nick normally posts on Facebook, which I refuse to use.

Meeting time is usually from 10am, no need to book on Saturday seemingly, just turn up. I have been to a few as it’s literally on my doorstep, the car doesn’t even get warm.

It’s open to 3 so you can spend as much time as you want chatting with others.

Thanks, I’ll have a look on FB, presumably it’s the Car Club group.

Hap, I could not attend as I was shielding over the weekend.

I have been a few times before and it’s been busy, if it goes ahead next month then I will be there. Hopefully we can get a few forum members there.

Hap,
I will check with Nick that it’s on and add to the post, I assume it will be as the recent visits have shown the popularity is defo growing.

If there is a chance of more Alpina attending I will be there as I’m only minutes away, literally.

The news is:

The Saturday meet was a success but the Motorist team could not offer a breakfast regular meet.

The Yorkshire BMW breakfast meet is THIS SUNDAY the 1st August. You can buy tickets on The Motorist web site at £2.50 or pay £5 on the gate. There is 100 BMW expected this Sunday.

The meet seems to go from strength to strength, as this weekend directly conflicts with the Sport Car in the Park at Newby hall, where Marc76 and I will be with the RS group and there is 20 cars coming from BMWCGB. Nick is currently considering other venues and I will try to advise as I become aware.

Hap and Woolly, it may be better if we either target the next one in September or one of the ongoing regular evening meets given the short timescales. There must be opportunities for us to define our own northern meet if we can get a few nterested?
