I am obtaining a separate code for ALPINA vehicle which give 50% (I believe) discount and infield parking. I will post up the details when received.

Shame it is not later in May when the hotels will hopefully be open, don't really fancy a 380 mile round trip on the same day :( :boohoo

Surprising, I was under the impression that no Hotel would be open for guests until the lockdown is hopefully lifted on the 17th of May :think

I regret that following further communications with Donington it is not possible to have a separate area from other cars. Therefore personally I have decided it does not work for me. I was informed there were 2 BMW cars (no guarantee they are ALPINA) who had tickets carried over. I was further informed they are to park with the pre 1990 cars?

My hope was to try and do this separately, but its not possible.

Another twist. I have now received a separate ALPINA only entry form. However, I am really unsure about how this event fits in with Covid regulations ?

If its not professional racing? is it? The its a hobby and how is that effected? personally I can travel anywhere in connection with my business and no person can determine where that is , but not the point. How can an event take place with members of the public or are participants considered not to be the public and therefore exempt?

So it appears 17th April 21 activities like this event are permitted. I tried as a Hilton Member to book the East Midlands Hilton, no issue whatsoever, was 60 a night as a member.

However, according to Donington site as long as group 6 or less all is ok. I am awaiting their official response to my mail.

It's a good open meeting. Infield parking a little dusty when dry. Sounds like no-one really knows what's happening and no idea on pit access this year yet. I intend to be there but it could all change anyway.
B10BRW. Saves me a 500 mile round trip to Revival, not to mention a few hundred quid. Lol.

There is no public pit access this year. The event is taking place and tickets are on sale to the Public and to car clubs. Infield car parking is only via car clubs. Note the BMW Car Club Gb is not attending in 2021.

The Donington site says there will be covid restrictions to groups of 6 or less people.

According to the Government website and all the newspaper reports I have read, Hotels are not open to Leisure guests until the 17th of May at the earliest.
If someone wants to book a room before then and put it down to a business trip, then that is down to their conscience.

Brian, I think you are right . However as Historic racing is not to the best of my knowledge a professional sport ( is it?), then those who are racing, supporting as mechanics and the whole of the staff and people involved are all going home at night?

Lets explore, say I decide to go to my Business at Newark on the Friday and then stay overnight and go on a Saturday is that ok technically. I think you are correct it is a moral choice.

No response from Donington as yet.

I got this response from Donington

1. The stay at home rule ends 29th march 21 - so event under covid rules can take place.
2. from 12 April accommodation which is self contained or camping permitted.
3 Some hotels taking booking but not providing leisure facilities , ie gym, pool etc and no food or bar, therefore are treated as item 2. However not officially.
