Goodwood breakfast club - Sunday 1st March 2020

Post by BarryM » Sun Feb 16, 2020 5:19 pm

Not an Alpina meet but my B10 will be there :)

Sunday 1st March is Vee-Power Sunday, there should be some nice cars on show so let's hope the weather starts to improve!

I was given a display ticket for this, but alas, will be away that weekend.

Shame, nice to get the B10 out in front of a few people, and would have been amusing to get two side by side

They'll probably let you in the car park :)

That is a shame, but I'll be happy parked next to anything with a V engine!

Would a change of badges on the back of the car do it Barry  or do they look under the bonnet on the way in?

I have applied but can’t imagine I will get a display slot at this stage - fancy going though if the weather behaves

It could be a nice little Alpina turnout, I believe Kevin is taking his B12 along too!

I got a note to say not got a display pass but have booked visitor places - now just the weather to behave - long drive from Notts needs clear skies!

Hi all, I can't fully confirm but it looks like Goodwood are cancelling this at the weekend.

There were some comments on the Pistonheads Goodwood Events forum page so I rang Goodwood about half an hour ago to ask if still going ahead or not so I could 'set a forum straight' if they were incorrect and was told 'an e-mail is being sent out tomorrow' but they could not tell me what it will say......

Another Pistonheads forum member then posted that the Marshalls have been stood down for Sunday so it looks like the weather may have defeated this meet (waterlogged etc).

Obviously I may be wrong but if it looks like a duck....etc

Will be keeping an eye out for the Goodwood e-mail tomorrow but thought would post on here now in case anyone away from their mails after today and doesn't think to check as getting up at silly o'clock on Sunday and turning up to a closed circuit would be particularly miserable.

Cheers, Jules

PS Goodwood also deleted an earlier Twitter post on their official page about 'who is looking forward to this event' after a few replies asking about cancellation rumours

Update - official confirmation now posted by Goodwood. Event postponed to Sunday 4th October 2020. Link is https://www.goodwood.com/motorsport/breakfast-club/

What a shame, I was really looking forward to this :(

Copy and Paste Text is: -

Vee-Power Sunday has been postponed to Sunday 4 October 2020

Due to the recent wet weather and the resulting condition of the car parks surrounding the Motor Circuit, we must sadly inform you that this weekend’s Vee-Power Sunday has been postponed to Sunday 4 October 2020. This is not a decision that has been taken lightly, but one that we have made to ensure the safety of our customers, as well as the protection of our car parks ahead of the 78th Members' Meeting.

In order for us to manage capacity for the revised date, tickets will be released on Monday 31 August. If you're planning to display your vehicle, you'll also need to re-apply by clicking the link below.
