key factors to best insurance quote

We often debate on here the offers individuals get from insurers or brokers or supermarket names offering insurance.

However I have looked at some of the key factors which when are collectively put together make the premium.

1. Post code - check which category you are in Cat A is the least risk area
2. Garaged overnight - will reduced premium but is an obligation at home address
3. Tracker or equivalent
4. Modifications - if none potentially more beneficial.
5. Annual mileage - lower declared the better
6. Driver(s) no convictions and no claim bonus all help
7. Agreed value, worth check and submitting photographs to insurer along with any trophies or competitions won ie concours
8 Occupation - the more a "professional" the title the better the premium. Top examples Dr, Lawyer, Surgeon, Dentist, Teacher, Policeman, Fire, Ambulance, Company Director, Social worker, health & Safety Manager as examples the list is not exhaustive .
9. Look at the basic premium and then the add ons, legal cover, replacement loan car, write off total loss additional cover and so on many are extras so decide if you really do need them.

There is no simple solution and much depends upon an individuals circumstances, I hope some of the aforementioned is of assistance and I am sure many people know this already.
