Filled up on Saturday and reset the OBC. Took the D3 for a good hard blast over Hartside Pass then back home via the motorway, got home, checked the OBC and was surprised to find I'd averaged 41.9mpg. It has got 5500 or so miles on the clock now and is loosening up nicely.
The only downside is that diesel is currently 116.1 round here atm so it cost £70 to fill up
Still, it's better than the £100 it cost to fill up my Dads X5 this afternoon :x

Thought I'd update on the D10.

Trip back from UK, 1600kms car returned 42mpg. The best bit, is that through France at average of 140kph (92mph) car returned 6.9l/100 (43mpg). I think this is very very good for a 250bhp Diesel (puts the D3 to shame IMO)

Trust me my D3 would slaughter my B10 on the twisties.

Doubt it, but then my old B10 was a bit special. But I take it you are talking about the steering, well the D10 has the proper one, so that is not even an issue.

You should have said earlier, I would have made the detour when I was still in UK to put the D3 to shame .... (the previous owner of my D10 had a D3 which he sold after 1 month cause it was not up to much, he kept the D10 4 years ...)

Personal best so far

I've just returned from a 300 mile round trip to Ft.William in the B10V8 taking in some of the country's most challenging and picturesque roads. Total driving time was around 6.1/2 hours, half of which was with two passengers and luggage.

I didn't set out to achieve an mpg record, particularly since my route involved quite a bit of twisties and some relatively high altitudes - I saw 2140ft on the sat-nav at one point - but the fuel consumption has been very good indeed. I expected 27(ish) mpg but I'm very pleased to report 30.0 being recorded on the OBC :D The needle has just dipped below the half tank so I'd suggest that's pretty accurate.

I reckon this could be improved by 10-15% (34-35mpg) if I could be bothered driving like a nun and kept away from the mountains. That's not bad for a 347bhp V8 monster and is easily on a par with my long departed 320.

In the current climate, that should be enough to give me warm smug feeling. However it's amplified by the fact that I loved every bit of the drive, blasted the doors off some other cars which I thought were impeding my progress, and feel refreshed enough at the end of it repeat the trip right now, although I could do with a few hours kip!

There are few cars as accomplished as this one. :!:

Just been for hols in Somerset Devon and Cormnwall in my B10 V8.
Total of 847 miles. Average throughout 25 mpg and I am heavy footed Had my girlfriend video me giving it some up and down Porlock Hill 3 times. Car sounded fantastic. Best MPG if drive like a nun 31. worst about 16.9. I can easily do less than that though!t I notice on starting up and driving straight off 7mpg till warm!
B10 V8 no 609. Sadly sold for Chrysler 300CSRT8 Touring. Not a patch on the Alpina, but big bang per buck!

Last minute attendance of a meeting in Burnley yesterday - so not hanging around to get there (if you know what I mean :whistle )

396 miles and 62 litres (brim to brim) giving me 29mpg

I must stop eeking out the last few miles in order to find the next Shell station though - my heart was in my mouth as the range was down to dashes :!:

Adrian in a Z4 Alpina Roadster s.
Usually I get about 29mpg average.
On the motorway tootling at 70mph coming back from France it was showing 36mpg.
Around Donington Park - 12mpg.
Just depends how you drive it I guess.
Z4 Alpina - simply awesome!

It sure does I've seen 40 on a long run, but I think me best start to finish run was from lymington to maidenhead and it was just over 38mpg
Currently averaging 31.8 and I don't spare the horses!
However my real reason for posting was that the Alpina Roadster S is just that. It has not one Z4 badge on it and I think Alpina were quite specific about that.
Best get that signature changed

B3 BITURBO - Only had her a few weeks, but she's returning just shy of 30 mpg, based on mixed road conditions (town / motorway).

Not bad I'd say! :)
