Tyre offer for register members

Post by Norrie » Tue Dec 04, 2018 2:04 pm

Some of you may know that I run a Container (Shipping type) rental and sales business. As part of that business I have a self storage joint venture with a UK major tyre supplier who has a turn over in excess of GB Pounds 80 million per year.

I have asked them if there is a possibility that we as a group ( I do not gain personally) might benefit from wholesale discounted prices, they are in agreement. This will be mostly supply only, however they are Midlands based and depending upon where members are there may be a possibility of having tyres fitted at one of their centres. This is the wholesale arm of a retail tyre business.

If you would like a quote on any tyres email me norman947@btinternet.com, depending upon the interest we may just put members directly in contact with the supplier.

I repeat this is not a business venture for me, just trying to give something back to fellow ALPINA owners, requests can be for any tyres, any vehicle.

That's excellent, Norrie - thank you.

I have changed the status of this thread to make it a "sticky" so that it remains at the top of the list in this section.

Thank you to those who have contacted me and have received a price, there may be a bit of a theme here in that the discounts are not great compared to other quotes. I suspect this is the case with Michelin, the issue is that the now own ATS Tyre centres and Black Circles. I guess those wholly owned outlets would not wish to be undercut.

However, having said the above the quote for my 21 inch tyres was significantly lower than any other.

Therefore, I cannot guarantee there will be massive savings, although all quotes were slightly cheaper.

Please feel free to contact me if you wish and I will find out a price for you.

Please note also some Michelin tyres are not going to be available until April 2019 , so if you are running low on tread check early

I have received a number of requests for PS2 tyres - generally they are discontinued however there is some stock still around

2653519 PS2 XL - 160 each plus vat
2653519 PS2 Super sport XL 183 each plus vat
2453519 PS2 XL - 185 each plus vat
2453519 PS2 super sport XL 152 plus vat

carriage is 7.50 plus vat per tyre in main land UK.

I am advised that Michelin may not be providing certain new tyres until April 2019 and that prices are subject to confirmation at the time of ordering. I guess a few people like me will have car garaged in winter so no too much impact. However, if I can help I will check for you all on availability.

Due to the high volume of enquiries please find the direct contact for a quotation for tyres for members of this form. Please state this when enquiring.

Contact is Jo Terry
Procurement and Strategy Manager
Tanvic Group

01636 675234

best to email for quote jo.terry@weselltyres.com

this is the wholesale side of their business which is similar to Halfords and kwikfit in terms of provision of service to the public, but not a standard comparison. The core business is wholesale supply of tyres and emergency breakdown tyre roadside replacement for commercial vehicles and fleet.
