B5 G30 interior trim

Post by D3orbust » Fri Dec 29, 2023 1:12 am

Hope everyone had a great Xmas.

I completely love the new car, don’t drive it often as it’s my wife’s car but the black exterior on completely black interior is starting to bore me and it needs brightening up

Does anyone know how much it would cost to order the Alpina brown interior trims as the current ones are Piano black, failing that I might have the head rests custom trimmed.

Welcome and glad you are enjoying the B5. Probably worth contacting Alpina directly (email on website etc). They will probably suggest purchasing the parts via Sytner Nottingham as they are the main point of contact in UK. If you are price conscious person prepare yourself for nice bill on these extra items. Personally the only headrest customisation I would have is the embossed ALPINA lettering or Embossed symbol from factory (The latter still looks cool in my 20 year old B3S). I noticed that the B5 GT can come with stitched lettering across the headrest. - Again just my opinion - think this a bit tacky for a 100K+ car. Anyway good luck with it.

I think I'd be correct in saying 95% of the B5 interior is stock G30/31, all be it from more up market models or optional add ons. Alpina do have some unique woods, one piece only is embossed with the logo in all cases. Again, some leather colours may be unique but they would be to special order and commensurately pricey.
Cheering the interior up might prove an expensive exercise, door cards, dash, seats, seat belts, headlining, trims etc depending on how far you go. Finding a good car trimmer may provide a cheaper and more bespoke option. (There's a guy near me who does some fantastic work on custom cars.) Bide your time and see what comes up on good old flea bay. Swapping seats- should you go that far - could involve coding dependant on what's fitted at the moment.
Of course, whatever you take out will of be saleable to help mitigate any pain!
