Peak District Tour

Post by Steve G B3S » Sat Oct 15, 2022 9:17 pm

Just in the early planning stages of next year's Peak District Tour for myself and a couple of friends, who are on motorbikes, and I will be in my B3S. So looking for any recommendations on where to stay, presently looking at Buxton or Matlock for hotels or maybe decent 'coaching' inns, consider anywhere really. Any roads we must drive, like sweepers with decent scenery, shouldn't be a problem considering the area. Recommended eateries, beers, places to visit etc.

Rowsley and Bakewell are nice.. also drive along the A6 towards Bakewell.

This place is worth looking at:

A blast through Chatsworth is fun, mind the hump-backed bridge! Then carry on towards Barlow and up to Curbar Edge.

As your friends are bikers, maybe a quick stop in Matlock Bath? Watch out on artists corner though, it’s a bit of an accident black spot.

You could also drive over to Carsington, there’s some decent drives there..

Cheers,
Hal

I can highly recommend the Cat and Fiddle the A537/A54 between Macclesfield and Buxton.
Brilliant road and great scenery. The only downside is there are 50mph Specs cameras on the whole route

Can highly recommend spending a day here:

Great environment, bikes and all the gear and lunch are included.

I did it a couple of months ago and it was a great day out!
