With BMW now taking over Alpina what is everyone’s thoughts on where the value of a “Genuine” Alpina will go to?
Does it make sense to put away the car into storage or just sell while used prices are high?

Personally I don’t think that the change in ownership of the brand will have any impact to the value of the recent and very popular models.
The bigger question is the next generation going to be engaged with cars to the same as the current generations. 80 and 90s cars are currently in vogue and prices are strong, will there be the same interest in the electronic age from the 2010s?

No where other than relative to where they are now for the next 7 years. Then demand for used ICE cars in general will push the price up briefly.
Given the demise of the ICE, which won’t happen by 2030 IMHO, our cars will slowly become museum pieces and garage queens. Rarity will provide a bit of additional value when compared with similarly aged BMW’s but that’s about it in my opinion.
Humble Ford Escorts, Cortina & Capri can fetch stupid money with Vauxhall Viva’s, Cavillers and Opel Manta’s fetching slightly less. My 1st car, an NSU 1000CS in TT form is currently asking just shy of £30K! I paid £350 in ’74.
Rarity, but primarily sentimentality within the classic car buyer’s demographic drives the price. Can’t see the average kid under 30 getting excited by an XR2 Fiesta or Fiat UNO Turbo.
By 2035 the gov’t will have us purchase carbon credits just to start an engine, should Petrol/Diesel still be available that is.

I can't see the majority of 2005-onward ALPINA models significantly appreciating after 2025 when the sale goes through. Unless there is another world event that changes public perspectives the demand for ALPINA's is likely to hold. As John said, sentimentality, and imo inherant simplicity of the cars, have significantly contributed to the recent boom in used sales.
Unless you're buying your new ALPINA for cash and don't need to worry about the collateral tied up in your current car, likelihood is you're going to be better off releasing the cash invested imo.
