Thanks for the add guys. Recently purchased my first Alpina and couldn’t be happier what a machine. I believe it was a Sytner demonstrator 2016?.
Just had brake fluid and service done, getting new discs pads and sensors done today.
Looking for advice on anything I should be aware of that needs doing.
Will look at refurbing alloys next and was wondering if you have issues with TPMS?
Thanks

Welcome, Sytner did advertise #415 as a demonstrator back in 2016, I don’t believe it was ever featured in any press articles though, just customer work.

Don’t forget to post some pics

Hi Bob, Hap thanks for the info.
Based in Scotland so any recommendations for up here would be good.
Did see a blog by Joe Achilles and was hooked. Missed out on a few so glad to have one now.
Thanks

Congratulations us XD owners seem to be relatively rare.

I bought my car from Carrera in Hillingdon, the car had black wheels painted by Sytner for the previous owner and it looked like they used a rattle can, it was awful. Asim got them redone by the Wheel specialist who is just done the road on the industrial estate. Not sure how far you are from Glasgow but they made a good job of it inside and out including the locking cap in sparkle silver.

Only “common” fault is rear spring shear on the x3 as far as I’m aware, although this problem plagues a number of others E46, E90. From the parts list published on here there are very few alpina specific mechanical parts for the XD, suspension and brakes are std X 35d

Also be careful of front tyre ware, the X3 seems to be adept at destroying the inner edge of the front tyres. I am currently running higher pressure in the fronts to try and even out the wear, only a couple of psi

Hi thanks for the info. I spoke with Asim at Carrera on Friday night wanting more pics video on Saturday only to be told it had sold. I believe it was also carbon black and I remember the black wheels.
Did see black one for sale in Aberdeen but too slow on that one also.
Not a lot going around last time I looked only 52 in uk.
Had new super sports fitted on front before delivery but look like they are wearing faster than PS4S’s on rear.
What you running on yours??
Do you know anything about recall for egr on X3 35d which this is based on or is there some difference which excludes them from recall? Quite a few people in for this on various models today??
Just had discs pads etc done this morning so all good.
Yes wheels next so just wary of tpms sensors being damaged needing reset.
Residing on east coast so don’t know how long turn around would be for leaving car or other option would be jack up and remove alloys?

I will try and get my spelling better this time through the Covid brain fog.

Yes the black one in Aberdeen was 193 and Asim bought it to resale, picture below. I still have the genuine bmw gloss black grills in a box.

Not heard of a recall yet.

I also run super sports and they are a lot softer than PS4, wearing ok but expect to change the rears soon.

Keep an eye on hud or speedo as these big buses hide their pace well. Enjoy
