Yet ANOTHER Safety Recall letter !

Post by TonyS » Fri Apr 22, 2022 1:30 pm

What is going on at BMW recently ? ... are they playing catch-up on my 13 year old car ?

I got yet ANOTHER real letter in the post today, from BMW in Slough, quoting my Alpina VIN, so I guess it is specific to my model, about a safety recall as follows ...

Anyone else had a similar letter ?

.
B3 BiTurbo Cabrio #121 (E93) + Quaife ATB LSD
X1 2.0 Twin-Scroll Turbo xDrive #zillion (F48) ... really useful, if only an XB1 existed !

--- but when you are up to your ears in alligators it can be relatively difficult to remember that your original idea was to drain the swamp --- hmmm

They have been working their way through various models with this recall. Had it on one of our X5s. They check the cable and either confirm it's OK as is or replace free of charge. Is indeed due to fire risk so defo get done.

That recall has been around for a while. If I recall (haha!) Barry did it on his E92 B3 BT back in 2019

I had this recall (and the fan wiring) on my E91 back in 2016 so it's been around for a long while.

I had this last week I took it as BMW must have caught up with the B3 ownership.

I had it done when I bought the car and it was checked with the fan cable recall from about a month ago.
