This is the first time I have done 50+. My mpg on a trip is usually about 48 or so and usually on premium diesel. Strangely this time I filled up with Sainsbury’s diesel, so does it affect the mpg ?? Not sure

Two variables - different fuel and different type of trip - so difficult to assess which part had what effect on mpg!!!

42mpg was my average I think in the F30 over in excess of 150,000 miles and I am currently running at 40mpg in the G20 so a loss of 2mpg on AWD and some additional weight which I dont think is too bad. The F30(s) were very consistent over time and mileage also over several years. They maybe started to drink a litre of oil every now and then but I think that would be classed as normal and to be honest, if you drive with moderation 50mpg is very doable in the F30 generation which is amazing considering the performance that can be called upon.

30 years from now owners with "Alpina Electric" cars may look at this thread and think what are they on about.....
