From a scout round a lot of those customer cars are sat for sale at dealers!
Have you got any specific examples so I can update?

The cars listed as "Customer (Probably)" have all been spotted out n'about or at least registered with DVLA, but not seen in service as a demo/loaner/press car.
#042 - Has been registered, no further details
#060 - Spotted Jul-21 being Detailed
#088 - Has been registered, no further details
#110 - Spotted Feb-21 out shopping
#111 - Spotted May-21 out shopping & Jul-21 on Holidays
#125 - Spotted same location Mar & May-21
#164 - Spotted at train station Jun-21
#198 - Spotted Beaulieu Show Sep-21
#201 - Spotted in residential street Aug-21
#270 - Spotted parked up in Sep-21
Sorry Bob I was thinking of D3S'!

I think there's only one B3 out atm, the Nardo one. 338?

Haha, there’s a whole other list for the D3S’! Any chance you could take a photo of the build plaque for your D3S loaner if you’ve still got it? Thanks

The Nardo B3 is now on my list as a Stock Car.

Good morning, I've been lurking here for some time as I contemplate my next car and think it's time to scratch the Alpina itch, I would really appreciate any advice. I initially though the D3S would be the better ownership proposition but the reviews on the B3 have swayed me, so now I'm wondering what lead times are like (I want to change in 12 months time), how people tend to finance (if they do) and whether to talk directly to Nottingham or someone more local (I'm in Devon). I'm also wondering if there's usually a healthy amount of cars in stock, it would have to be a Touring by the way. Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

My factory order was placed July 2020 and it was delivered March 2021. I did consider ordering via Nottingham but my local Sytner dealership (Harold Wood) is so close I ended up ordering via them. I believe Gary Lott at Nottingham is fairly involved with the order regardless of where it's placed, I can't say I feel like I would have got better service if I'd used Nottingham and I'd happily buy another Alpina from HW. I took the finance option, mostly because I would prefer to invest the cash that would otherwise be used to buy the car outright and I figure I can expect to get a better return on it long term than the 4.9% finance APR will cost me.

Thanks for the prompt response, I will probably contact Gary Lott initially, but he's a long way from home. I imagine lead times are significant and hearing reports about some options being restricted due to semi conductor supply issues. I'd be interested to know if you have any option regrets and if you can be bothered, to know what spec you went for.

Happy to help if I can. Thread for my own car is here

Spec I went for:
  • Alpina Blue
    Classic wheelset
Black vernasca leather with bespoke blue stitching
    HK sound
    Drive Recorder
Leatherette dash top with matching blue stitching
    Aluminium paddle shifters
    Galvanic embellisher for controls
    Lumbar support
    Parking Assistant Plus
    Power folding mirrors
    Rear sun blinds
    Tinted rear windows
If I were ordering again I probably would if I’m honest go for a brown leather to lift the interior and live with having to clean the inside more regularly. I’m happy with the Vernasca though it is a step up from Dakota and whilst not as soft and supple as Merino it’ll definitely wear better (a consideration for me as the car is a kiddy wagon). I would also definitely spec the HUD as it’s excellent and I don’t love the dial layout. I’ve never had lumbar before in a car but now it’s a no-brainer. Also bear in mind that the base, non-upgraded DRL’s are from the lowest rung 3-series trim level. Doesn’t bother me in the slightest but it wasn’t entirely clear on the configurator when I specced mine and I had to do some digging online myself to work out what the light signature would look like without “upgrading”. I love the classic wheels but they hate potholes due to the rubber band tyres and zero rim protection.

Hi,

I went:

•HUD- a definite. I never look at the dashboard
•Dynamic wheels. Better ride and looks in my opinion. Spend the £2000 saved on HUD and a roof.
•HArmon Kardon. No idea if it’s any better. Sounds OK
•Clever parking. Good fun and works well
•Pano roof. Definitely needed
•Tartufo full leather. A definite. Gets a lot of positive comment.
•Galvanic controls. Not essential.
•Flappy paddles. Probably worth it.
•Rear heated seats. Not essential, gets a lot of positives though.
•Extended Bluetooth. Not entirely sure what it is.

Alpina Blue. Personal taste.

I believe extended BT allows two phones to be paired with the car simultaneously and also provides a mic for the passenger as well as the driver (IIRC, it was explained to me a while back). What I can say with certainty is that the standard BT function will allow you to to pair your phone with the car wirelessly, play my music from it, take hands free calls and use CarPlay.

Looking at the pictures of your car Johnny I am seriously impressed with the Alpina Blue, I had green in mind (with tan) but I think blue is the colour. I will have a chat with Mr Lott and when/if I order one I will post the spec.

The only options I will definitely go for are 20 inch wheels, Pano roof, HK, lumber and privacy (I carry some expensive items around).

New member here.

So the last few weeks I’ve been considering a G21 B3. If I was going down the route of a new vehicle, who’s generally the best dealer/contact?

I realise they’re all Sytner, but is there a any particular one of the Alpina’s

Well, there's now one less B3 in the UK. #333 has turned up in Indonesia.
