Where does one get E39 Touring tailgates and what do they cost? Do BMW still have them as stock items?
Have a look on ebay, search breaking e39 Touring.

Thanks. That does, from the photos, appear to be a good clean one. Certainly better than I've seen on eBay in the past. Now, here's my next question.

Does E39 tailgate fit in an E39 Touring?

Unless the tailgate for a B10 is different to the donor car (which I believe it isn't), then the answer is yes.

For information, I am in the process of doing the same for my E46

Popped up to C&M for a coffee whilst doing the school run. Lovely E28 up there too. :)

Nice one Matt - you timed that well. The E28 and the weather. Check the rain shower in the background!

Amazes me there always seems to be something nice there regardless of the time or day.

That E28 is simply gorgeous and so of its time.
Chunky, boxy styling, in your face decals with that passive/aggressive shark nose.
Imagine that in the rear-view mirror, climbing into your boot as it pulls out to overtake.
Better still imagine the howling of the intakes and exhausts as it does so.
I want one! I really, really do.
P.S Your D3 is nice too Matt!

The B2.8 was the one 4Star Classics sold a while back. It does look the business but I'm not a fan of the more recently added rear wing.

Hope it lives there or was brought on a trailer, since it's not currently got an MOT.

It was driven up there from the Oxford area I think. Probably booked in for an MOT on the way home

Simply used the Alpina for work, ferrying wife here and there and taxiing kids about.

I’ve done about 150 trouble feel miles with no warning lights 😊 - very satisfying

Did something I’ve wanted to do for ages this morning. I know that the steering wheel buttons have been explained, but I always preferred paddles.

Having removed the steering wheel, I then set about removing the buttons and their additional wiring. Then simply retrofitted OE paddles and reversed the process.

Took the car out for a drive and it feels so much better. A small, but worthwhile mod.

Thanks for sharing, I have been thinking about doing this on my car, but wasn’t sure how easy it was.

I was fortunate to have some time in a G21 B3 & D3S last weekend, both were equipped with the optional paddles and I have to say I did prefer them to the buttons.

Boring alert.

I gave my B3 a quick service wash after standing still for the best part of three months.

The process of removing the airbag is difficult compared to any other BMW that I’ve done in the past. There is a good alternative tutorial on YouTube, below, which I used, having spent 30-40 mins trying to remove the airbag the ‘normal’ way.

Just make sure the battery is disconnected throughout

Checked and Inflated my tyre's to the desired pressures for the first time today - no easy task thanks to Sytner Nottingham!

I've had my Alpina for 6 weeks now and after the first week removed the centre caps and checked the pressures. At that time i noticed that along with the wheels (that I would have preferred to have been left alone as they were in their original finish) Sytner had kindly painted the valves too, which was actually enough to foul the threads and stop the tyre compressor screwing on

After relaying this story to my Dad in the coming weeks he was sure he had an old thread cleaner (die) somewhere and proceeded to dig it out. It was somewhat second hand looking and slightly damaged but was exactly what was needed!

So today i finally ran the die down each valve and topped up the tyres where required to the desired pressures.

I also took the opportunity to replace each centre cap emblem securing nyloc nut and also apply some thread locker too after Adam's (Yad3100) recent misfortune of having one come undone, so hopefully they'll stay put!
