Still, its a fantastic looking car!
You certainly have had to put some work in but the sill repairs look very well done.
A nice E34 front end is one of BMW's finest of all time to my eyes.

Technically didn’t do anything today… except order up new springs…
Hit a pot hole Xmas eve. Then the neighbour was walking past the car on Xmas day and said it gave a loud bang.
Got round to investigating today and found a snapped rear spring.
Car off the road until they arrive.

Gave mine an interim oil and filter change today. Cleaned under the bonnet and gave the car a well needed wash afterwards.

That's Concours Matt! Fabulous job.
Looks wet, did you pressure wash it? Use detergent? If so what precautions did you take and did you apply any finishes afterwards.
Would like to get mine up to that standard but the idea of putting a hose (even with DI water) in there scares the BeJesus out of me.

I'm intrigued to know your approach as well Matt. I tend to shy away from cleaning the engine bay for the same reasons John mentions.

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?
Hi John/Paul,
The process was as follows;
I had the engine cover off as I was doing the oil and filter. Once complete, I used Meguiars Super Degreaser at 4:1 ratio all over the parts. Worked in with a soft bristled detailing brush. Then rinsed off with water. I use a Karcher with a short trigger. The engine bay and its contents are then blown dry with a cheap Amazon blower from a company called Merry. It's about £25 and has served me well for a number of years. The plastics were then dressed with Meguiars Hyper dressing.
Everything done in moderation as you don't want to get electrical connectors too wet. Have used this process on all my cars over the years and never had an issue.

Threw two fingers at the pain of them,
XD has a nail in tyre so needs to be repaired and C2 won’t start, so just shut the garage door again.

"I use a Karcher with a short trigger."
Hey Matt,
Nice work, just wondering though where you got the Karcher short trigger from. I've been looking for one for a while and can't seem to find anything. Any ideas.

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?
Been a busy Alpina maintenance week unfortunately.
C2 wouldn’t fire the other week so went out last weekend and did a few checks. No spark, but the also checked fuel, none either. So must be signal related, either crank position sensor or the ECU, although my big worry was the alarm. Ordered a cps from auto doc, not paying bmw prices for a sensor to test, and then fitted it today. Did a temp routing of the wire as it sits in a cable trough across the front of the M20 block. Yeeha fired straight away. Only down side is I now need to strip out lots of stuff to get the cable in the right position.
Also fixed the puncture damage on the XD3, nail in the middle of the tyre should be an acceptable repair but once the wheel was stripped off found the inner edge to be feathered off and there was also a split on the edge, so scrap with 3.5mm across 90% of tread. Then had the pleasure of having my rectum raped by the Michelin man for a pair of 4s.
Yes Hap before you say, I know it needs a clean, but too cold today.
