Latest Alpina Convertible ?

Post by Simon B » Tue Jun 27, 2023 12:33 pm

So having tried to persuade Mrs B to part with the B3S for a C43 Mercedes and failing, I came to the conclusion that the only way to get her to part with it would be for another 4 seat Alpina convertible. It seems they dont make one anymore (stand to be corrected on that obviously) and if the did I think a new one would be a bit out of my range.

That then posed the question of what was the last B3 or B4 convertible that was made? I am sure the experts on here will know the answer obviously.

The more challenging question is then how can I find one if i wanted one and how much would it cost?

The F33 B4 convertible (2014-2017), the F33 D4 convertible (2014-2018) and the F33 B4S convertible (2017-2018) are, I believe, the the last convertibles that ALPINA offered

Thanks Charles

Not sure I could sell the diesel option despite it being I am sure a great car.

Don’t suppose you have a B4S kicking around that you don’t want 😃

Hi Simon,

There are 4 UK F33 B4Ss - they are Silver, Snapper Rocks, Alpina Green and Tanzanite Blue. There are photos of all 4 on here if you have a search.

Three of them came up for sale within 12 months, so you might be lucky if you're patient.

Thanks Paul. That dosnt sound like many even by Alpina standards. It appears that one of them is yours, and in the perrfect colour scheme. Let me know if you want to part with it. I have a very nice B3S I can part ex :D

I've actually had a good think about that Simon! When I started out looking for an Alpina Cab, it was an E36 or E46 I had in mind. However, when the B4S came up, I couldn't resist.

I've mentioned previously on your other threads how much I like your car - it's a beauty. However, I'm still loving the B4S so not sure I'm ready to part with it yet.....

It very kind of you to say how much you like mine. We still like it too. I was slightly tongue in cheek about the part ex but in all seriousness when and if you do decide to part with the B4S please let me know. We have had the B3S for 17 years now so if I have to wait a few more it wont hurt.

Nice to see you still have your b3s Simon. Totally appreciate getting a newer car. They offer so much more too. My take is that the older B3S - you have to "drive' it but anything newer does a lot for you in the experience. Either one is not better but just different.

Thanks Fast3000

I think I have given up trying to get the better half to change it. I need to finish off the refresh I started a couple of years ago and then keep it a few more years.

I am going to get Colin Woods to have a look at the suspension and see if it needs some parts refreshing then get the wheels done again after that. Then it is pretty much finished and hopefully back to something like it was when we got it.
