I didn’t know

Post by Henry » Wed Nov 22, 2023 1:30 pm

Probably shouldn’t admit it on this site but while reading through the user handbook (a rare thing) I found that on arriving home one can operate the headlight flasher and the headlights stay on for a reasonable amount of time to get to the front door. I didn’t know

Next you'll be saying you didn't know you could open/close all the windows and sunroof by holding down one of the button keys!

Well Barry, not sure if your taking the piss or not, but my windows don’t move in either direction with the key buttons.

 Barry isn’t taking the pee. Have you tried holding the middle button down. Open a window and then try. Honestly. But then again I confess I didn’t know about the headlights.

I think the function is called “welcome home” lights by BMW.

It's called Convenience opening in the BMW manual:

Press & hold the unlock button for a few seconds to open all windows and sunroof, press and hold the lock button to close them all up - very useful in the height of summer when the car has been sitting in the sun!

Well, for whatever reason none of the above works, I did a recode of the key but nothing improved. Perhaps something in the cars past has been changed to not allow this facility, shame it would be a nice feature to have in the summer. Thanks for mentioning it. It does annoy me now that I know I should have it but don’t. Dammed if you tell me and dammed if you don’t.
