That's a result! I see that Charles has messaged you - he's the chap you need.docsmith wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 9:34 amHi Mike,
Thanks for taking an interest in my little problem.
I’ve looked at the Register’s parts catalogue and notice that it is in German.
My contact at Buchloe has very kindly sent me the parts catalogue for my B3 e46 but joy of joys it is all in English.
I also have the full BMW service plan so I was wondering if it was possible to send them over to either yourself or one of the other Register keepers for you to give the once over and if considered to be of use maybe added to the other files.
Only question is who do I email the files to?
Re: e46 B3 3.3 auto/manual gearbox glitch?
To bring you the layest update.
Everything is now working as it should. Bought Hella speed sensors and trifecta lights disappeared straight away.
Car is running smoothly including that the gearbox glitches have also disappeared. How weird is that?
So now I have a genuine ZF 5HP19 gearbox oil service set to sell. Includes all gaskets filters magnets and plugs plus 7 litres of oil so if anybody knows who might want one please get them to contact me.

Due to size and weight definitely collection only unless they organise a courier themselves.
To all those who helped me with their suggestions I thank you very much.
Kind regards
David

Good news
I would still do the gearbox oil change now that you have the kit.
Unless you know it has been done before now, then it is definitely due a change. Alpina recommended to me to change the gearbox oil every 60k miles and yours has done way more than that (86k if I remember correctly).

Glad to hear the problems are resolved Doc.
Charles is spot-on - the oil ought be changed given the age and mileage, particularly because you have all of the parts and consumables. Be a pity to spoil the ship and all that!

Re: e46 B3 3.3 auto/manual gearbox glitch?
To both Mike and Charles,
Thanks for the interest and tips regarding my Alpina Faults.
I purchased the gearbox oil service kit to be prepared just in case the gearbox needed to be looked at.
As the gearbox glitch seems to have cleared up with the wheel speed sensor being replaced ( really odd that) I no longer require it.
Prior to getting ill I had changed the gearbox oil at 60,000 miles as mentioned in previous forums.
So I have the 5HP19 service kit available if anybody wishes to change their gearbox oil.
I have placed this info in the " Alpina Wanted " forum so once again thanks for all the assistance in helping me keep the Alpina on the road.
Kind regards
doc

I didn't realise that the oil had been changed relatively recently. That being the case, I hope you are able to move the kit on.
