D3 BT - e91 Tourer Owners manual

Post by Deeg » Thu Nov 03, 2022 11:49 am

Morning all,

I'm constantly on the look out for a copy of the Alpina owners manual supplement, as my car was not supplied with it.
Oct 10 build, 2011 registered, D3 Bi Turbo tourer. #277.

However in short term, as I think this will be difficult to source as NLA from BMW parts, can someone do me a favour and scan or photo some pages and upload info on the suspension, setting and ride height if possible please? Or better still if any one knows of an E copy of the manual anywhere please let me know where.

Thanks!

From my experience I don’t think there is a D3 manual online. The nearest I know of is the parts pdf catalogue and the standard E91 BMW manuals.

I have the E92 B3 BiTurbo manual on pdf that someone photographed for me until I was extremely lucky to find a new one for sale on eBay, but unfortunately it won’t be much help for you for the statistics and technical data.

They are very difficult to photograph with a tightly glued spine but hopefully there may be someone on here willing to, or has already done.

Cheers for the reply John,

Yeah from memory I realise the owners manual is quite tightly binded on the spine.
I've got the std BMW manual from a decent deal on ebay, full supplementary books also.
Just the Alpina specific ones now missing.

At this point I'm even happy with a written post with the suspension setting for the tourer so I can get a full alignment check done.
Previous owner had a shock changed, like for like, but I would prefer an alignment check now everything has settled after 1000 miles or so.

Do you know if the supplementary book is unique to the Touring or does it cover both loon and touring?

If it's both, I'm sure someone like Wellsy could take a few pics of his?

Yeah cheers Hap, but as that was a saloon, and MT I'm not sure if that figures are correct for a touring.

Would be great if someone can confirm.

And yes I'm a stickler for alignment settings after a very costly mistake chewing through a set of rear Michelins in less than 5000miles!

Leaving me stranded in the highlands I might add!

Technically if you go to a trusted garage that uses a Hunter machine and knows what they are doing, they will have the Alpina E91 D3 settings on their Hunter database, so if you ask nicely…..? Perhaps. They already did for the B3 E92.

I’ve just had the rear dampers replaced and they are stock 335i SE items, so went for Sachs OEM. Depends if the springs differ I suppose too, my settings all differ from stock 335i due to perhaps different springs, anti-roll bars, slightly different wheel offsets and fronts are wider too.

Unfortunately I think the D3 E90/E91 Owners supplement will be out of print as is the E92 B3 now.

Cheers John, yeah first 2 places I contacted didn't have the correct settings, or probably more likely understand the car they were looking for.
I've been away the last 2 weeks so still need to contact a couple more, got details of 1 that I am hopeful for locally though...

Cheers

FYI

When I received all the manual photos I edited them to align them and make them as clear as I could, then used the Bonusprint app to create my own printed manual, was about £20 delivered IIRC.
