XD3 passenger restraint system warning light

Post by Portland62 » Sun Oct 23, 2022 7:30 pm

Hi
Looking to see if anyone on here has experienced this.
Removed passenger headrest to have cushion made as wife has neck issues( 2 titanium cages fitted to replace discs) and warning light appeared once disconnected cable in back of seat. ( Passenger restraint system warning)
Thought that once fitted and reconnected it would go away but it is still present on dash and warning on screen.
Is there something I have missed or can do to rectify.
Thanks
Portland

You could well have the active headrest option
If you don't have a code reader to reset it then disconnexting the battery for 15mins may resolve he issue

It looks like it does have the active headrest. Did think about disconnecting the battery but wasn’t sure if it would cause more issues than what I have just now. Did try a basic code reader to reset but it wouldn’t let it. Maybe it would need something more sophisticated.
Not keen on a trip to BMW.

Eventually got round to taking it to BMW who quickly rectified the fault but found battery at 37% so ended up with new battery and coding as well just over £500 for the work. Lesson learnt with doing this.
