B10 3.3 Throttle Body

Post by herbie75 » Thu Mar 31, 2022 1:38 pm

Hi everyone,
my B10 is going into an Indy to have the throttle body replaced. Does anyone know if this part is Alpina specific on these engines? I've been told it's part number 13541433414 that needs to be ordered. Just wanted to double check!
Thanks
Elliot.

The Sticky post at the top of this section has links to the latest ALPINA Parts Catalogues.

Page 7 of the E39 B10 6-cylinder catalogue does list the Motordrosselklappe for the 3.3 as p/n: 13 54 1 433 414. As an 11-digit number that means it's a BMW part from another model rather than a unique ALPINA part which is a 7-digit number.

Looks like p/n: 13 54 1 433 414 is a standard M52B28 part, not going to be cheap all the same .... Autodoc has a Hella version at £890

I've just replaced mine on my E46 B3. It's a BMW part. I have the box with the part number on which I'll fish out tomorrow and post here. Iirc it's the same part number which also fits the BMW X5 4.6/8. Around £290 plus VAT.

Hi both,
thanks very much for this, have had a look through the catalogue and this seems to match the part number for the "Motordrosselklappe"! Have been charged £613 plus VAT for it, not sure what make it is, but I'll find out.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated as always!

Elliot.

Part number for mine is 13 54 1 435 959 which matches the part number of the original unit replaced. I am assuming the engine is the same in the B10 3.3 as in the E46 3.3. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxr ... series=E53

Without knowing the VINs for the two vehicles, I suspect they will be running different versions of the E4 engine. Notwithstanding the fact there were different engine codes the same engine fitted to an E46 or E39 bodyshell anyway.

I would assume Elliot's B10 is running the E4/5 based on the earlier iteration where as your car will have an E4/6 which included revisions to the intake system and engine management. The comparable E39 engine to your E4/6 is the E4/7.

To confirm, you want characters 12-14 of your ALPINA VIN (WAPxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) number

Yeah, the 3.3 does have quite a few variants, and it’s not helped by the fact it was fitted to the E46 & E39 which required some changes just to fit the different engine bays (plus the ALLRAD was different again).

Hi,
sorry to resurrect an old thread, but having had a new throttle body fitted last year I've just been told by another garage that I have the wrong throttle body on it! Does the "AE" reference on the parts catalogue mean this is the part that came off the original 528i ? I've been told that based on my chassis number I should have throttle body 91 47 13 54 650.

My B10 continues to have an intermittent fault, asc light on and engine goes into limp mode...

My VIN is WBADP52090BR68140.

Many thanks,

Elliot.

I think the best way to solve this is to email Alpina and ask them what the part number is. You may have to provide proof of ownership via a scan of the V5 but it should put your mind at rest.
