Loss of sound from audio system

Hi All

Jump in the car yesterday and noticed that I have no sound from the stereo. It appears as though it is muted. The orange light in the bottom left corner will not illuminate. I've pressed the left hand control knob several times but no joy. Also, when I press the 'Mode' button, I can't cycle between CD, radio and tape. Everything else appears to be working e.g. Sat Nav. Anyone any ideas? Is there some form of master reset I can do? Many thanks.

I had this with my D3 (pro Hi-fi amp in the boot), I noticed the parking sensors were not making a noise. This was the first symptom of what turned out to be a terribly expensive affair.

Water had ingressed through the rear light cluster, shorting the amp and taking out the head unit and CD player as they were part of the fibre optic system, costing £1,900 to replace with second hand parts...

Hopefully it's not that, so if you don't have an amp in the boot, or fibre optic connectivity, then hopefully some fuse fiddling will sort your issue.
