How to find E30 Alpina B6?

Post by acollier » Fri Mar 10, 2006 7:02 pm

I am investigating the possibility of trying to find an E30 Alpina B6 3.5 or 3.5S.

Were any of the 3.5 cars officially imported to the UK and right hand drive? I know that the S was l/h only as per the M3.

See link for production figures, doesn't differentiate left or right hand drive?
http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/attach ... 1103656223

What sort of price could I expect to pay? Am I right to expect the M3 based 3.5S to be significantly more expensive?
Also I like the Q car effect of the standard coupe or saloon.

How/where could I go to find one? I know there are 2 examples on mobile.de but I don't really want left hand drive. The only entries on the Alpina register are for the 3.5S and they aren't for sale!

As ever all assistance greatly appreciated.

Alan

all 3.5 and 3.5s are LHD unfortunately, think there were 3 officailly imported 3.5s...price circa 15k upwards as they only made 62 or so the normal bodied e30 3.5 is more readily available. see autoscout on the net, they vary in price but you can buy them for 6k upwards (think there is one for sale in total bmw last month)

very fast cars 260 bhp back in the 80`s was rapid, even today its quick and the ultimate Q car

How to find E30 Alpina B6?

Thanks for the reponses. Pretty much what I expected to hear. Looks like I'll have to get used to driving on the left!

Are there any figures to show how many of the standard B6 cars are in the UK?

Ok, next problem is maintenance/servicing. I am completely inept with a spanner and have no real desire to learn. Please can people reply with recommendations for independent specialists around the Bath/Wiltshire area. I would be prepared to travel a reasonable distance for good service.

Alan,

Probably worth giving the BMW Car Club a call. They are based near Bath and should have a good knowledge of recommended independents near them (and elsewhere I guess).

Their phone number is 01225 709009

the engine is just a tuned M30 motor which is bmw's old skool big block 6.

So servicing it will be no different to any normal M30 engine i'd expect.

This is a guess but i doubt there are more than 3-5 in this country, they never came here officially apart from the one demo. So it's just imports.

Your best bet is to start on the net and looking in europe cos thats where they all are! or most of them. Hows your german!

A B6S is also worth alot more than the regular B6. Both are serious toys though! over 200bhp in any E30 makes them a hoot to drive

C2 2.7? At least u stand a good chance of finding one forsale over here?
