F** D3 Buying Advice

Post by StuartK » Sun May 10, 2020 12:55 pm

Hi Guys,

Just after some advice what to look out for?

Also if car has FSH (Specialist) and it’s not logged in Idrive would that be a huge resale issue?

Hi Stuart

Welcome. Not a huge amount to look out for as the cars are pretty reliable. Look for a car that has been looked after and maintained on the button. Ideally with more frequent oil changes than the CBS in iDrive (will let the car run circa 18k miles before change).

Check turbos are quiet, brakes and wheels/tyres in good shape - cracks, buckles, tyre bulges common due to v low profile rubber and our glorious road quality.

Service history should be very comprehensive - if not in IDrive then full paperwork showing what's been done. Decent BMW/Alpina specialists have the software to update the iDrive record. Suspect it will harm the value of the car not having it in iDrive.

MattOz on here has a lovely looking D3 for sale with fab spec. Have you seen the ad?
