E34 B10 possible purchase.

Post by Lamb Souvla » Sat Oct 26, 2019 4:37 pm

Hello Gents,
New to the forum but been unregistered and lurking for a while.
I’m finally at the stage where I can buy one of my dream cars.
My local specialist who has taken car of all of my cars, E30 325i, E46 330d Touring and my current E61, has a alleged E34 Alpina.
Now, the car has no paperwork due to what I’m told was a office fire which wiped out all his paperwork 7-8 years ago.
It’s a Blue rhd 3.5 with all the correct interior. I haven’t yet managed to get a look at the engine bay.
I don’t doubt that it’s real(although will do my due diligence) as my guy has been nothing but honest and fair to me for years.
Is there any way I can search for the cars history at all or is there a man with the know on here that can guide me at all?
The car is #8424

Thanks in advance.

Mike

"The car is #8424"

Not sure if that was a typo as that number seems high to me, but assuming this is a BiTurbo and the number is right - if you get the car you may be interested in a reg I have - 8424BT ?

Lemme know if this is of interest :D

No, the 4-digit numbers are legit for the Sytner built era cars (E30, E34, E32, etc). That number is in the middle of the B10 3.5/1 range

unless Sytner take a shine to you, it may be virtually impossible to trace the cars history or details, you could try Alpina themselves quoting the vin(s) to see what they come back with but today their general response appears that they refuse sighting data protection

Looks like Alpina Blue, which if it is, should be a good indicator of authenticity.
